Quite a few of our Europeans playing in Alfred Dunhill Championship that starts today on Sky if anyone wants to watch. Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre and Matt Fitzpatrick all playing. Sure it'll be more interesting than watching us currently.

Gonna look at getting back into playing golf myself again, I'll spending most my time down the range to start with before attempting to step foot back on a course as I play golf one handed. Really looking forward to starting again though.

Getting post-Ryder Cup blues. My god that was good.

I went and chipped some balls in my backyard. Had my neighbour hurl some insults at me while doing so.

I played Shirland today (in Alfreton) and walked off after 8 holes. Absolute shit tip conditions with plenty of fairways thick like rough, slow greens, barely any sand in bunkers and a stupid layout with fairways constantly on slopes.

Hey everyone, looking for some advice really. As you know from my previous post I'm looking at starting golf back up again. Didn't know if anyone could give me any club recommendations? I'm not expecting to play with the best clubs straight away. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

What sort of money are you looking to spend and what kind of level did/do you play at?

I play one handed mate so I'm not at the greatest level at all and not played in years so it'll be basically like a beginner again and mainly at the range to start with to build my confidence back up. I'll be completely honest I've not even thought of a budget and being honest I don't know what clubs cost these days so wouldn't want to make myself look silly with a budget.

The best advice I can give you,  is go and spend an hour with a pro,  any one of worth their salt should be able to point you in the right direction after seeing how you swing the club.  Much better than getting random advice off the internet,  the best £40/£50 you will ever spend on this damn frustrating game.

Absolutely the above. Your swing will be so unique that a short fitting session will point you towards the right sort of clubs that will help you the best.

My guess would be lightweight graphite shafts, and something very forgiving. Length, lie-angle, and grip size would need to be fitted by actual measurements and feel.

See if any of your local golf clubs do fittings and go from there.

I was not necessarily talking about a full fitting at this stage as I am not sure about the guys budget,  but if he has the budget and is fully committitted to golf then yes go for that.  I was suggesting seeing a pro and having a lesson the pro should be able to point in the right direction of the right type of clubs for him to look for on the second hand market.

Thank you mate, you're definitely right on the graphite shafts front as the lighter shaft helps with me only playing one handed.

Absolute scenes when you’ve played a year and are a lower handicap than me, playing 2 times a week the last 5 years

Fcking hate the game 🤣
