davieG Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 I think the forum footy matches helped to build relationships and bonds there was some great U21vO21 games plus the 6 a side ones where people got to know each other and ended up going to games together and learning first hand their style of humour, much easier then to tell when someone's joking, being sarcy or just pissed off.
Alf Bentley Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 You've completely missed the point. About par for the course. These people are friends of mine. I used to go every week home and away and would go with this people, drink with them, travel with them, you know, socialise? Outside of the Internet? You're that bloke that's expecting sextuplets or something, aren't you? (Impending congratulations, by the way) Seems to me you're getting unnecessarily maudling about the loss of your "young, free and single" status, socialising with mates. Yes, it becomes more difficult - and you can't manage it as often - when you become a Daddy, but it doesn't have to end completely. In fact, I've always found that the hardest bit is still managing to socialise with your wife/partner (arranging a babysitter is hard work, even if you've got one available and if your partner is interested!) When you're a Daddyio, you'll still be able to meet/visit your mates, just a bit less often - and you might have to be the one that makes the effort. You can also still enjoy swilling gin and talking shite on here, inbetween changing nappies, singing lullabies and cooing about minor bits of progress achieved by The People's Offspring!
Guest Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Well, don't fret. I only came back on recently to catch up with some old friends and discuss some football. Sadly a lot of old friends have moved on (hence trying to track them down) and the standard of football knowledge and insight on here has, if not declined altogether, been massively watered down. I shan't be troubling you much longer! Not sure why the chip on your shoulder, but not my concern! No chip. You just come across as a willy puller. You just pissed all over some great posters just because they are new and you don't know them whilst reminiscing about how great it was back in your day. Having read your recent threads it seems that you are having a life crisis because you are going to have twins and you can't really afford to. Most of your threads are simply rants about people who are not working that YOU are supporting. Was that really the level of the threads "back in the day"? You're a sad man at the moment, your imminent departure (as if) will be no loss. You're that bloke that's expecting sextuplets or something, aren't you? (Impending congratulations, by the way) Seems to me you're getting unnecessarily maudling about the loss of your "young, free and single" status, socialising with mates. I used to go every week home and away and would go with this people, drink with them, travel with them, you know, socialise? Outside of the Internet? I bet fit girls off the Internet are falling over themselves to meet you!!! You can meet fit birds here? - I'll be on more often!
The People's Hero Posted 24 February 2013 Author Posted 24 February 2013 Sounds an accurate post. I couldn't care less what you think. Some people think there is a big bearded man in the sky who will judge us all one day, some people thought the world would end not so long ago because of a bizarre interpretation of some Mayan prophecy, some people think that its sustainable to have an ever decreasing bunch of decent people working hard to contribute and support an ever increasing pool of lazy ar seholes, you think I'm a wan ker and just like all of those people, I think you are wrong. There is no telling some people though, so I'll leave you to your misconceptions and (sorry to break your heart) but won't be losing any sleep over the fact that some bitter, sad, lonely fool in France think I'm a wan ker. As for those who think I'm having a crisis because I have children, I can only assume you don't have children. Its the most satisfying, rewarding thing you can do. True, it has put a strain on finances, but as always in my life, I stretch myself and I achieve. I'm sorry if some of you won't like this, but if you put your mind to it, you can achieve a lot and I will make the money and will pay the bills. Doesn't mean I have to think our present welfare system is fair. I wouldn't expect you to grasp the difference between an objective view on something and a subjective view. I shouldn't have to work as hard as I'm having to to support my family, but I will do because its what I have to do. It might be unfair, but I'd rather be working hard and go to bed at night knowing I do what I have to do, than be a parasite on this state. Not sure why I even dignified this with a response, you're a nasty piece of work. I've just finished the painting in my son's new room and as soon as that is done I'll be off up there to build the furniture to move him over so he doesn't feel put out when the twins arrive and take the larger room. I love doing it. Its for my little family. Think of that whilst you sit there all alone trying to think up a cutting reply and just trying to imagine, if you can, how little I care!

Neither am I it just reinforced what we are all saying about you. Get a room with Finnegan for a night and get rid of some of your stress.
Guest Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 there is no humour on here and no good natured interchange of views in the right spirit.. its all so serious and to be honest, so boring. I refer you to you last post.

Finnegan Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Has Moosebreath hacked your account or something? Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
The People's Hero Posted 24 February 2013 Author Posted 24 February 2013 I think it might be best if this thread is just closed now, mods. I don't see that there is any need or benefit to future squabbling. Its beneath me to be honest, so I'm happy to just rise above it if you want to leave it open, but perhaps its best closed and left to slide away from view. Any of those guys who do see this though, please drop me a PM with contact details if happy to stay in touch.
Zingari Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Blimey , you can always tell when we have a bad result

Guest Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Has Moosebreath hacked your account or something? I like to crosspost at times. it's an invigorating experience. Wouldn't want to get boring and predictable on this forum would we? I think it might be best if this thread is just closed now, mods. Blimey , you can always tell when we have a bad result This thread only inspired me because he denigrated your wonderful input and humour Zingo. You couldn't have been that good friends with them away from the internet then? good point.
Finnegan Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 You couldn't have been that good friends with them away from the internet then? That or now having a wife and child stunt his commuting to games home and/or away.
MC Prussian Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Two subjective remarks: a) TPH is back, gracing this forum again. I've read many things about you and it seems you really are trying hard to make an earnest living as a family man. Kudos! b) FIF is acting like a big tit lately - judging from previous posts in other threads. To me, it seems it's you who's a bit under stress, needing to calm down. No point in being so bitchy and attacking others who're simply talking about times past.
Finnegan Posted 24 February 2013 Posted 24 February 2013 Pathetic FAIL. please change your name to The People's Zero to reflect your new status. Satisfy my curiosity, how old ARE you?
The People's Hero Posted 24 February 2013 Author Posted 24 February 2013 Pathetic FAIL. please change your name to The People's Zero to reflect your new status. Once you're made the spokesperson of the people and barometer of FT opinion, I'll consider your request. Right, this 'zero' is off to finish off his son's new bedroom.
