The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 Knighton Matt Fez Alexikokopops Nationwider Lisa Carl Neb Emma Shum Baker Kerry H Beaumont Fox Daggers Benji Nick Ric Flair Jon the Hat lildave3 Jme Ched Bert And ALL the rest of the crowd (sorry if I've missed any - blame the gin) back running the place. Some of you are probably posting under other names now. The times we had.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Just to clarify, the current set are fine, but there is no humour on here and no good natured interchange of views in the right spirit.. its all so serious and to be honest, so boring.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Anyone of you lot that are about - please could you PM me your mobile numbers, so we could potentially arrange meeting up at games? Don't want to lose touch just because people are drifting away from this place.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 quite a few of those still post on here I know Ric Flair, Jon the Hat do. Alexikokopops has to be more mature now as a mod! Lisa posts occasionally I think. Very occasional bits from Bert and Fez, but that's about it I reckon. Are they all on another forum do we know? Or have they just kicked the habit?
AoWW Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 Uh oh, you've hit the gin and gone into maudlin, reminiscing mode, haven't you?
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Also omitted Singh, which I feel bad about - but then thought, I'm sure he still posts, but no so sure I have seen anything.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Uh oh, you've hit the gin and gone into maudlin, reminiscing mode, haven't you? Just remember having nights like this and settling down for an hour with foxestalk and it was a laugh a minute, it really was. Some of the threads were hilarious. We had some great nights out together too. There is a picture kicking about on FB somewhere from a night out Alexikokopops, Fez, Mablo and I had after the first O21 game and it truly is horrific.

Hmm yes , looking at the list again some of them post but a lot less frequent , I must admit I just feel the forum gradually evolves , posters come and go . The humour changes too I stll think it's pretty good on here and there are lots of really good, witty , informed posters

The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Are you sure that wasn't your shirt? Shirt was not brilliant, but pretty tame by modern standards. I can't quite believe how bad the floral blazer I've just bought is. I saw one I loved in Zara, but they didn't have my size (essentially, short, not wide at shoulders, fat). I saw one on Asos when drunk and panic bought it. Oh dear.
MC Prussian Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 I must've slipped the radar. Quite pleased about that achievement, to be fair. EDIT: I remember many of those names from the days of the original LCFC forum (which closed down before FT got started). A couple of these people still post on Talkingballs, though.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 Why don't you just have an old pals sub-forum for anyone who used to be on here in 2006 so the rest of us don't have to listen to how much better it used to be when it was just those legends on here?

If you can get all of those on the list together and create the sub-forum, believe me, I wouldn't spend any time on the rest of the site.

jonthefox Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 We've got kingfox and Dangerous tiger to fill the void now.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Nice to think back on the wit of Janx too - and such a jolly nice bloke. Here's to you, Neil.

I've always loved how pissy some people can get over a harmless bit of reminiscing.
Danizen Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 Wow. This thread is so cliquey it's practically masonic.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 I've always loved how pissy some people can get over a harmless bit of reminiscing. A) It was a light-hearted joke. Laugh a little at yourself: you might live longer. B) the threads are all still there I'm sure. Might be nicer if people thought that rather than sticking to the old gang they could include some new ideas in them.
Finnegan Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 Sorry if you felt I overreacted, tone can be difficult to pick up via one line of text, though what you wrote came across as just catty. Perhaps enforced by the fact it's been said and meant in earnest before by people bemoaning a supposed "in crowd."
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2013 Author Posted 23 February 2013 Wow. This thread is so cliquey it's practically masonic. Reminiscing about old friends and trying to get back in touch with some who I've lost contact with is cliquey? I don't have time to be friends with everyone - and I'd consider all those I've listed to be good people I'd have a beer with before/after a game. I don't see the harm. Sorry to any who it has offended though - what I'm really after is for some of those to PM me if they are still about with a mobile number, if they are happy to do so. If that annoys anyone, I suggest you don't read. Mods - if I've breached any rules, please delete thread.

Perhaps enforced by the fact it's been said and meant in earnest before by people bemoaning a supposed "in crowd." If there is such a thing as an 'in crowd' or indeed ever was one, I'm certainly not in it. I take dog's abuse in the LCFC forum! My points are always considered and often justified on here with reason etc etc, certainly more so than the majority of views expressed, yet I take a lot of abuse as a result of my views, which when you think about it is a bit ridiculous, especially considering the subject matter is a fairly mediocre football team, owned by people on the otherside of the planet and staffed largely by professional journeymen who couldn't care less about the club.
James. Posted 23 February 2013 Posted 23 February 2013 I'm watching Take Me Out, on my own, on a Saturday night, I've had nothing to drink all weekend and now, yet again, I'm overlooked on a reminiscing list.
