Sorry if you felt I overreacted, tone can be difficult to pick up via one line of text, though what you wrote came across as just catty.

Perhaps enforced by the fact it's been said and meant in earnest before by people bemoaning a supposed "in crowd."

There is definitely an in crowd. As ever it is those in the "in crowd" who are the only ones denying its existence.

Like any good joke (not that this was one!) it's based in truth.

There's a lot of snobbery from the old posters on here towards the newer ones and I think it keeps a lot of people away from the forum, especially kids.

The "safehouse" in particular is full of people pointing and laughing at newer posters taking their time to discuss our defeats or draws rather than actually contributing to the discussion themselves.

Anyway, just my two cents. As I said, bringing back some of these supposedly brilliant old threads might be a good way to get FT back to how it used to be, setting a tone for newer forum members to follow rather than making them feel excluded.

I'm watching Take Me Out, on my own, on a Saturday night, I've had nothing to drink all weekend and now, yet again, I'm overlooked on a reminiscing list.

:nono:

You poor, poor man.

Some of them used to post on the Official Leicester forum. I went under the name of Ancas de rana (frogs legs) Met some of them too but I know at least two that don't post on here. Whether they post under another name I don't know. As far as I know the forum is no longer running. I stopped posting because of the trolls and the amount of abusive posts with nothing being done about it. FT has at least got mods that actually read the posts.

I did indeed forget you. Please accept my apologies.

We've not beered often though have we? We should beer.

Why don't you just have an old pals sub-forum for anyone who used to be on here in 2006 so the rest of us don't have to listen to how much better it used to be when it was just those legends on here?

Yet you joined the forum in 2006. :ermm:

Our swords crossed, so to speak, on a couple of occasions, primarily involving Selhurst Park which was almost a spiritual home for the old clique.

To be fair I haven't seen anyone off here for bloody ages, generally too busy to make many games nowadays, plus football just doesn't do it for me like it used to. That said next time there's a meet I'd be keen.

Same. I don't have much chance of an away ticket with my priority either! But it is about my only chance to really let my hair down - and to see my brother which is always good. And drunk.

Palace away? Coming up isn't it? Shall we go and meet at Victoria as is often the plan but then just not go to the game?

He wants in on it!

Good idea about bumping some of the better old threads though. It very often doesn't go down well...

Yeah let me in! I'll drop this as soon as I'm in.

With regards to AoWWs point, joining and actively contributing are obviously different.

I suspect that now, as then, plenty join and don't post much for a while whilst they feel out the vibe of the forum.

Reminiscing about old friends and trying to get back in touch with some who I've lost contact with is cliquey?

I don't have time to be friends with everyone - and I'd consider all those I've listed to be good people I'd have a beer with before/after a game.

I don't see the harm.

Sorry to any who it has offended though - what I'm really after is for some of those to PM me if they are still about with a mobile number, if they are happy to do so.

If that annoys anyone, I suggest you don't read.

Mods - if I've breached any rules, please delete thread.

It was a throwaway comment, pal. I just had nothing else to contribute.

This..

It smacks of a 'kiss yer arse' thread.

Thanks for the constructive comments, which have been noted.

I note further, that you are not interested.

Remind me to comment similarly next time you reminisce about anything, including 'when I had that friend,' 'when I once made someone laugh with a comment - or did they sneeze?' or anything about any LCFC result, season, player or manager.

If nostalgia, memories and the past are so unimportant then it makes the present pretty fu cking meaningless, no?

Goodbye!

Can't believe I left off Cobbo, Katy and Scowy. I genuinely thought of them!

Shows I can think quicker than I can type - which just shows how slow my typing is (I'll give you that one for free!)

That sounds to die for. Unfortunately I'll be knee deep in my own filth on my stag do that weekend.

I was just trying to think of posters I had either met or been in the company of.

What happened to Micky Ruddle? Used to always shout ATMOSPHERE at the back of sk2 years back. Used to try and get plenty of chants going too, decent lad

Didn't he used to be mates with Lil' Dave?

Reminiscing by others does not bother me. Nothing to do with me if people want to remember friends.

If you think a thread is clicky don't read it.

This won't make sense to some others, but...

Does Bren post here? Ben? Esther?

Those that know will know who I'm on about?

I haven't read from Bren in ages. He must've stopped a few years ago.

Ben and Esther don't really post any longer - they're both too busy following hockey and working (Ben) or working and taking care of the kid (Esther).

Think I remember Ben on the LCFC site. Friends with BF?

They used to be together, but split up about a year ago.

Is it in the UK and can I (and all of the old crew) come?

It's in Lisbon. Our criteria was a liberal society and a collapsed economy so I think we've done well. Everyone is welcome.

Regarding old members did anyone ever hear from Barton Fox again? He was a character.
