The Premier League isn't a good idea...

Okay, without the puffed up chest bull****, seriously glad we had this season to gel into the awesome attacking force we became, really looking forward to next season now with a view to seeing Vardy/Mahrez/Dyer(?)/Shlupp run at defences, Knockart trying some mazy runs and The Great Dane shouting at anyone and everyone in front of him.

I think we can all agree that this year has been fantastic to watch. We have a team of spirit and passion, skilful on the ball and aware off it. I am genuinely proud of how we have developed as a side that needs very little doing to it in terms of additions to the team for a push up a level. We matured, had a great few matured heads join us too which I'm sure helped and now we will have that money payout everyone wanted and we will be playing some of the biggest teams in the world without us necessarily being drubbed 6-0 (no matter what my prem team supporting mates go on about). Reasons why the premiership aint a good idea this time around... cant think of a single fookin one :D

Dear Football League

If it's ok with you, we would like to stay in the Championship for another season, because our fans are too scared of Premier League football.

Kind Regards

I've been a fan of Leicester since Brain Little's stint way back in the day when I was a kid. Been to Wembley to see us get promoted, have followed the team constantly ever since I was a teen. I don't get to go to the games nowdays as I live a bit too far away and I'm not very well off financially so a lot of what I say is from my opinions garnered from here, watching the streams and following the media.

Don't get me wrong here, I really want us to succeed in the top flight but I've got to say, honestly, we are not ready to go up again. Pure and simple reason for this is that we do not have the players to survive there yet, not totally at least. Even with a recruitment drive if we got into the premiership we would need too many players which would disrupt harmony again.

We do have a squad capable within the championship, that much is obvious. Within the premiership though we lack too much experience. We have a Very young team, admittedly talented, strong, skillful but very prone to form issues so it seems. Our senior players are excellent though, I pray we hold on to Schmichel, Morgan and Nugent as they are the nucleus of our team right now, our star players. This points to another issue, that we have star players in goal, defence and attack, yet none in midfield. I think we all read how so many regular posters we banging their drum about needing a midfield general, I think they were right. In my mind that is the issue with out 'lack of plan B' as well, not because we would be winning the games when we currently are not, but because we would have someone in the middle of the park who would be our anchor to allow others to move about him. We need that holding player, and we need him to bed in with the squad (oooh eer) so that it isa instinctive shift into other formations if we need to change during play.

Next season we are most likely going to lose Konchesky due to him not being the player he was, one of either St Ledgeface or Whitbread, Wellens as he is again not the player he was and one of either Vardy, Waghorn or Futacs, of which I would bet Waghorn as the boy does seem to miss a few (not that the others don't, just don't see Pearson dump his pet project in Vardy, plus with Futacs it offers us another dimension). Also Keane will be going which is a shame, with Schlupp maybe following, though we don't know for sure yet.

If you take out the 'star' players, the presumed leaving and just remain with the squad I think we end up with an average age of about 23 (this is more a guess at my maths rather than figure checking), a good age for cover players, not first team regulars in the premiership in my mind, not looking at the squad. typically we have 5 players on the pitch younger than 23. They haven't matured into themselves yet, let alone their football skills.

We need another transfer window to finish the project, to replace those who will be leaving/retiring, to strengthen the squad with 3 more 'star' players who will push the younger squad on and let them sit back and become the players we need them to be. As it stands though they could be demolished at nearly every ground in the premiership right now. This is admittedly just my opinion, I just don't see it working if we go up is all. 2 seasons from now... Owning it (kinda), just need our last soldiers.

Got to be the post of the year or a wind up? Don't tell him/her that neither keane, Waghorn, Futacs, Wellens, plays for us anymore and I don't believe Whitbread or St Ledger will ever do again.

You get better by playing against better, and you can't really get the players to be 100% Top Flight ready unless you're playing there.

IF, and it's a big IF, we go up with Cardiff, I think we'll be much stronger than them: so often we see the team that walked the Champ really struggle.

Promotion gives us the chance to keep our best players and buy the last few pieces of our squad jigsaw-even if we come down again I think we'll be better for it...

If we come down immediately which could well be the case, it will be difficult to keep our very best players, as they will probably be snapped up by existing Premiership clubs, including those that would newly promoted

It's been very likely we'll be promoted for some time. I'm sure NP will have his ideas over who he needs to bring in and who he needs to re-sign, because of contract ending. No doubt he'll already have talked about a budget with the owners. It's not so exciting as winning a Wembley play-off, but we're in a good position being able to plan for the Premier league at this stage of the season. The owners have wanted PL football and I'm sure they will back NP in transfer targets. I'm confident in NP's ability to mould a team that will be comfortably above the bottom three. I'm sure there will be difficult moments next season - there's not very much between many teams - but I'm confident next season will see us end somewhere close to mid-table.

As an aside, I still don't think fans have fully recognised NP's achievements this season. OK, it's obvious we've got promoted. Although many posters would have liked a different manager, but it's the way it's been done. The open attacking style has been great to watch and that has been a surprise. The work off the ball has been great also especially in closing down the opposition - much better than in previous seasons. Vardy's particularly good at this but Nugent chasing a lost ball at Burnley leading to the second goal and Wood's headed goal against Watford are my favourite examples.

The work rate of Man City when they beat us earlier in the season was very impressive. Although there'll never be the same resources, sufficient work rate and team spirit should see us looking forward to the PL. MON's team always over achieved in terms of individuals and I can see similar with NP.

There are 90 million reasons why the premiership is a great idea.

Quite.

I don't think you were. Your point was that we wouldn't be able to stay up with the squad we had, there's no way you could be certain about that.

Thinking about it, just look at how much we've improved this season, the players you were talking about are pretty much the same ones we have now. I'd suggest we're better prepared for the PL than we might have thought last season. With additions we could well have been up to standard.

If you were arguing that we wouldn't go up then you'd have been right, but you weren't
