Raj Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 I want to get up. Watching games like today is depressing from an entertainment point of view. I'd rather see us lose to, or sometimes beat, decent quality sides. I'm fed up of this division. You wont be saying that when/if it happens.. Im like the OP and started going in the Little Days The wembley experiences were brill, the Hillsborough final was awesome, going up was mental BUT losing week in week out(i remember we lost heavily on consecutive w/ends i think to Chelsski and wankpool) having to go work and get shite every week...YOu may say its still great being in the Prem but it aint when your gettinh whupped every week...

So even if we go up , you're determined to be an ungrateful git ? That's just typical of you Raj !!
Raj Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 So even if we go up , you're determined to be an ungrateful git ? That's just typical of you Raj !! Eevn if we won the Euro Cup we'd have something to moan about!! Me in particular!!!
Captain... Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 with ffp coming we need the prem , NOW ! Maybe you should tell the players that, really shout NOW!!!! in their faces, I bet that is why we aren't top yet, nobody told them about FFP.
dannythefox Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 Sooner we get to the prem the better IMO what does worry me is who and when will we get a new manager? I would be surprised if they kept Pearson.

Oh I know, we'll get thumped several times, but I'd rather sit through that than the rubbish that was served up on Saturday. Every win we get would be worth savouring.

Don't you get that anyway for us being in this league? Can't people take the piss out of us more because we are not in the top division? After so many years of disappointment just being able to say we're in the top division would be a breath of fresh air.
Guest MattP Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 Some people must be on crack on here. 1. We NEED to go up for financial reasons. 2. The Premier League isn't that good anyway, if Southampton, West Ham and Reading can make a good stab at staying up we can.
Johnny Cash Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 I don't think half of the teams that win promotion really have players to stay there, some only have one or two 'star' players that could become decent Premier League footballers... I don't think Reading or Southampton (apart from Lallana) had players to survive this season in the Premier League. I didn't think Blackpool (apart from Adam) did the other year either. I'm not being funny or anything, but look at it, we are in the second tier, where we have been for the past nine seasons (including one in League One). That's why we have second tier players, apart from a few that would probably look decent in the Premier League; Knockaert, Nugent and maybe Wood. Do I want us to get promoted? Of course I do. I'd rather visit Anfield than London Road. I'd rather watch Suarez instead of Murray. Nugent? Your point immediately becomes invalid!
Fox92 Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 Nugent? Your point immediately becomes invalid! So my whole point become invalid? I was using him as an example, which I still stand by, because in my opinion, the players that might look good enough in the Premier League are Knockaert, Nugent and maybe Wood. As I said.
Alex_LCFC Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 Foxestalk has to be the most debaitable football forum in the world
lcfc"weasel" Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 There's one big enough reason to not want to go up in my opinion, price. I'd rather be able, if I chose to go every game again, to be to afford it, than be able to afford 2/3 games a year. **** the EPL.
ozleicester Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 TV TV TV TV TV Oh and having people in Australia know who Leicester City are (even if its just because they were the team that Manure thrashed this time). COYB
maxwelld_ Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 If we go up a actually think the owners will let us buy and build a squad capable of staying in the prem. the owners have invested a lot of time and money into us to see us go straight down. They want premiership football to raise the profile of the club overseas in the Asia market. I recon he would let us spend around the 30 million mark?
maxwelld_ Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 Sooner we get to the prem the better IMO what does worry me is who and when will we get a new manager? I would be surprised if they kept Pearson. . Red knapp maybe as doubt he would stay at QPR if they get relegated
AyewJoking Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 This squad would need massive reinvestment to compete in the Premier let alone survive. We cant out think (was gonna put manouvere but cant spell it and didnt want to look like a massive twat) mediocre championship teams so we'd get ripped to shreds by the likes of Sunderland, Stoke, Fulham and whilst upping our game against the big boys we would still lose comfortably. I'm sick of the championship too. I would love to see us get promoted this season but can only wince at the kind of pastings we'd get.
Mythyaar Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 Not getting promoted is not the end of the world for me. I had a great time following us in league 1 at venues like Cheltenham and Hereford. And I loved the fact that we won more often than not. I'm not a season ticket holder but in Championship have no difficulty getting tickets home and away. I wouldn't have that luxury if we got to Prem. Maybe Wigan away (if they survive!) Don't get me wrong, I want us to get promoted, and this season more than any due to the increased parachute payments. But if we don't I'll continue to follow....
marbelladave Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 Personally I would like to see us promoted and stay in the Premiership. I can then follow everything on TV and get my saturdays back....... A game at the KP costs me £100, more if I stay over after a night game and involves a 220 mile round trip and typically 8-9 hours.......
Reynard Bleu Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 I think promotion to the Premiership is a whizz idea. Its what its all about isnt it? Nobody sets out for mid table mediocrity, although some will accept it. We all want to win it, some are just better equipped/positioned/backed.
DanTheFox07 Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 I've been a fan of Leicester since Brain Little's stint way back in the day when I was a kid. Been to Wembley to see us get promoted, have followed the team constantly ever since I was a teen. I don't get to go to the games nowdays as I live a bit too far away and I'm not very well off financially so a lot of what I say is from my opinions garnered from here, watching the streams and following the media. Don't get me wrong here, I really want us to succeed in the top flight but I've got to say, honestly, we are not ready to go up again. Pure and simple reason for this is that we do not have the players to survive there yet, not totally at least. Even with a recruitment drive if we got into the premiership we would need too many players which would disrupt harmony again. We do have a squad capable within the championship, that much is obvious. Within the premiership though we lack too much experience. We have a Very young team, admittedly talented, strong, skillful but very prone to form issues so it seems. Our senior players are excellent though, I pray we hold on to Schmichel, Morgan and Nugent as they are the nucleus of our team right now, our star players. This points to another issue, that we have star players in goal, defence and attack, yet none in midfield. I think we all read how so many regular posters we banging their drum about needing a midfield general, I think they were right. In my mind that is the issue with out 'lack of plan B' as well, not because we would be winning the games when we currently are not, but because we would have someone in the middle of the park who would be our anchor to allow others to move about him. We need that holding player, and we need him to bed in with the squad (oooh eer) so that it isa instinctive shift into other formations if we need to change during play. Next season we are most likely going to lose Konchesky due to him not being the player he was, one of either St Ledgeface or Whitbread, Wellens as he is again not the player he was and one of either Vardy, Waghorn or Futacs, of which I would bet Waghorn as the boy does seem to miss a few (not that the others don't, just don't see Pearson dump his pet project in Vardy, plus with Futacs it offers us another dimension). Also Keane will be going which is a shame, with Schlupp maybe following, though we don't know for sure yet. If you take out the 'star' players, the presumed leaving and just remain with the squad I think we end up with an average age of about 23 (this is more a guess at my maths rather than figure checking), a good age for cover players, not first team regulars in the premiership in my mind, not looking at the squad. typically we have 5 players on the pitch younger than 23. They haven't matured into themselves yet, let alone their football skills. We need another transfer window to finish the project, to replace those who will be leaving/retiring, to strengthen the squad with 3 more 'star' players who will push the younger squad on and let them sit back and become the players we need them to be. As it stands though they could be demolished at nearly every ground in the premiership right now. This is admittedly just my opinion, I just don't see it working if we go up is all. 2 seasons from now... Owning it (kinda), just need our last soldiers. We need to go up purely from a financial point of view, we already owe our owners a silly amount of money and city going up is worth a 150 million, so alright we might struggle but I agree with most and say I would rather go up and be able to improve our finances and go down and have the parachute payment`s you would get in the champ if that is still the case.
muzzy1981 Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 Sick of always waiting for next season! Rather go up and come down getting board of the Champ! Come on lads bring it home!!!
Courua Posted 5 March 2013 Author Posted 5 March 2013 Thank you for the replies, well, at least the thought out ones, think I'm just referring to the 3rd (I thnk) poster aka troll. Well, I'll happily stand corrected by a majority of replies of financially we need to go up, make a lot of sense for the club as a whole, plus the owners (as has been said) aren't shy of investing in the squad so it would be an interesting off season for sure. I guess I'm looking at some of the championship teams is all, Bolton, Blackburn, Blackpool, Wolves to name a few, teams that did okay and are hardly (well, kinda) in the running for promotion again, I guess I fear the team getting that losing mentality, hell, it can happen to teams like Arsenal!! I would love us to go up, honestly, for all my bluster, who wouldn't love us to be regularly playing on TV, able to read a proper match report in the paper, have Savage being a bell-end and slagging us off every moment he could. I'd just hate for the team to become negative when after so god damn long we are suddenly... well... good(ish). So please excuse my idea, now, what was it, oh, yeah... Pearson ouKIDDING, ooonly kidding COYB
