theessexfox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Sorry if this has already been posted, but with the recent, disputed dismissals of Nigel Adkins and Brian McDermott, are managers a.) axed too soon and b.) blamed for things that aren't always their fault?
Kitchandro Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Sometimes. There seems to be numerous sackings which I would consider unfair or short-sighted each season.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 It's hard to just summarize it into one. There are some people that deserve to be shown the door where as others don't.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I think it's fair to say there are certainly some unfair sackings, however we also don't know what's going on behind the scenes. I suppose in a sense you could also ask if clubs are too quick to appoint a new manager?
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 They are shown the door to quickly, yes. Simon Grayson is another example of that. To get a club promoted for this first time in years and to be then sacked is sometimes harsh but owners have that power. Generally everything that goes on within the team is the managers fault, so I'm not sure about that second question. At the end of the day, it's always the managers fault (isn't it?) because he's the manager... "first rule of leadership, everything is your fault".
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 I covered this in my latest blog 'Trigger Happy TV': http://www.theposthorngallop.blogspot.co.uk/ The answer is undoubtedly yes!
