Are managers shown the door too quickly?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but with the recent, disputed dismissals of Nigel Adkins and Brian McDermott, are managers a.) axed too soon and b.) blamed for things that aren't always their fault?

I think it's fair to say there are certainly some unfair sackings, however we also don't know what's going on behind the scenes. I suppose in a sense you could also ask if clubs are too quick to appoint a new manager?

They are shown the door to quickly, yes. Simon Grayson is another example of that. To get a club promoted for this first time in years and to be then sacked is sometimes harsh but owners have that power.

Generally everything that goes on within the team is the managers fault, so I'm not sure about that second question. At the end of the day, it's always the managers fault (isn't it?) because he's the manager... "first rule of leadership, everything is your fault".
