BlueArmy91 Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Hello guys, just a question wondering if anyone knew any course fishing lakes open this weekend? looking to go on the 24th of march as i dont have a sunday football game, i know the season is closed, but wondered if any places open during closing season? Thanks
MooseBreath Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 I don't think many commercial lakes care about the season these days.
Deucalion Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 The season only applies to rivers I think. So you can fish lakes and canals at any time. I usually fish around the West Midlands so don't know Leicestershire waters. I have fished Waterygates near Thurlaston though. I've always enjoyed it there and if you get bored, the landowner will shoot crows from above your head and you can dodge the falling pellets. Always fun !! (It's over a year since I've been fishing...feeling the urge!)
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 I think most of em are open over the winter months anyway? Mill Farm fishery in Bruntingthorpe (the big lake at the back) is a cracker for big Carp. If its open.
Zingari Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 The fish are all turning gay these days due to women on the pill piddling estrogen down the lavvy. Try using sparkly things as bait .

z-layrex Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 So want to get into fishing. But at the same time would feel bad about hurting the fish...
Vlad the Fox Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 So want to get into fishing. But at the same time would feel bad about hurting the fish... It's ok because they don't have any feelings.
Zingari Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 It's ok because they don't have any feelings. Yes they do , but you have to learn to read the facial expressions Here's a chart to help you Of course , fishermen will only ever see the angry expression
Deucalion Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 So want to get into fishing. But at the same time would feel bad about hurting the fish... I don't think it hurts them that much. Although I do think they are mightily inconvenienced by it.

separator Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Get no end of Polish fishing down random rivers/canals I was recently working nights in London and you often see them fishing in the Thames, on the Victoria Embankment, just down the road from Parliament. Didn't seem to be catching much though.
