Guest MattP Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Welker is such a reliable WR and a perfect fit for the Broncos' offense (although Peyton could probably even make me look good). That said, WTF was Welker doing even thinking about catching that punt on his own 5-yard line? There were a lot of stupid mistakes made last night and at times, the game looked like it was still preseason. But when the Broncos' offense switched gears, god damn... BTW if anyone here wants to read ridiculous tales about every NFL team, check out the "Why Your Team Sucks 2013" series on Deadspin. I have no idea, one of the funniest things I've seen on the field since the Matt Sanchez ;butt fumble' last season. First half was very pre season, very basic and not what you expect from Superbowl champions v Pre Season Superbowl favourites. Denver really do look the real deal and that was without the Champ.
Merging Cultures Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Ravens don't stand a chance this year unfortunately.
Jordan Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 My mate tweeted me with the Redskins link to that last night 'Last season RG3 made me forget how much I hate Dan Snyder. This offseason, Dan Snyder made me forget how much I liked RG3' http://deadspin.com/why-your-team-sucks-2013-washington-redskins-1257835174 Oh my god, Dan Snyder is the biggest piece of shit owner there is here. I'm a Giants fan, right? And I hate the Redskins, but I really sympathize with decent Redskins fans that hate the guy. He's like the Ryanair owner (but 100 times more cheap and more of a scumbag) only he demands Emirates prices from his customers.http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/40063/ I have no idea, one of the funniest things I've seen on the field since the Matt Sanchez ;butt fumble' last season.I could see a replay of the Butt Fumble 100 times a day for the rest of my life, and I'd laugh every single time....so, let's watch it again! http://youtu.be/Vuvz15OjCVc
Guest MattP Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 lol I'll never forget that game, I think the Pats ran in 3 TD's in about 2 minutes, I've never seen football like it, you could have watched that and been forgiven for thinking they had never everplayed the game together.
DJMadness29 Posted 7 September 2013 Posted 7 September 2013 Bronco's fan here. Although I only started watching last season after a holiday to Vegas. Didn't manage to see much of the match, start work at 4, so left at 14-14 and was quite worried. If Manning and Welker can keep it up I'll be happy. Still a newbie with it all though.
Fox in the North Posted 7 September 2013 Posted 7 September 2013 Does anyone here follow American Football in the UK?

That's Jets football at its best! I'm actually looking forward to the Jets vs Bucs 1 o'clock kickoff just to see how bad this train wreck is. I think Geno Smith is going to be a huge bust. My Week 1 picks from Thursday, based on the Thursday lines: Broncos (-7.5) vs Ravens (win) Buccaneers (-3) at Jets Patriots (-9) at Bills Titans (+7) at Steelers Falcons (+3) at Saints Chiefs (-3.5) at Jaguars Bears (-3) vs Bengals Browns (even) vs Dolphins Seahawks (-3.5) at Panthers Packers (+4.5) at 49ers Lions (-4.5) vs Vikings Colts (-9.5) vs Raiders Cardinals (+4.5) at Rams Giants (+3) at Cowboys Redskins (-3.5) vs Eagles Texans (-4) at Chargers Interesting that I picked 10 teams to cover on the road... Although I am regretting picking the Giants (although they usually do well in Dallas) and the Packers (if their beat-up offensive line struggles, then they could be in for a long day at Candlestick).
Lamby Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Gone for Total Match Points: Raiders @ Colts - Over 46 Vikings @ Lions - Over 46 Seahawks @ Panthers - Over 44.5 Bengals @ Bears - Over 42 Chiefs @ Jags - Over 42 Falcons @ Saints - Over 54.5 Titans @ Steelers - Over 42 Patriots @ Bills - Over 51 £1 returns £176.45
Lamby Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Lambo Ssh, I've won a few Total Points bets before
Jordan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Lamby, you might as well just play the lottery with that £1... Colts-Raiders line went up to 11 today, but I still took the Colts--that's how little I think of the Raiders. My picks above are for a weekly pool that I'm in. $10 to buy in, pick all the games based on Thursday's lines, and whoever has the most correct picks wins all the cash.
Guest Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Reggie Bush with a cracking 77 yard TD for the Lions. Worth a look
Bayfox Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Would love tonget back into this but don't have sky and freeview chanels do a shit job of coverage. Used to love a bit of the dolphins and always had a soft spot for the steelers back in the day.

Fox 4 Life Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Lavonte David, wow what was he thinking! Been some crazy games today,
Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Can't believe Bucs haven't won that! It was all but won, and then Lavonte David did that, Idiotic!
Bayfox Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Channel 4 at 1:30am tomorrow Point proved. Would be great if they got a prime time game back or a decent highlights show at the weekend. Used to watch c4 every week as a kid.
Jordan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Rough start to my gambling season! It wasn't just the dumb penalty by David; it was also the dumb play calling by the Bucs on the last series, when it looked like they would have settled for a 48-yard field goal or so. They could have ran more aggressive running plays to try to pick up one more first down but they let the Jets have the ball with enough time on the clock to do something with it. Also, the Bucs defense dropped into that stupid deep, deep prevent defense and gave the Jets two cheap plays to pick up big chunks of yardage. The prevent defense prevents you from winning.
Guest Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 This 49ers/Packers game is getting a bit feisty. Kaepernick looks like he might stop my fantasy team looking like a complete bunch of twats as it stands
Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 The jets won!!! Arghhhh!!! That'll be the only time I celebrate a win this season then
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 The jets won!!! Arghhhh!!! That'll be the only time I celebrate a win this season then Howd Geno Smith look? Went to the Colts game, they got a bit lucky in the end pardon the pun. raiders should of won it
Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Not sure at the moment, I'm on holiday in turkey so I've done a sterling effort just to keep track of the score!
Jordan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Howd Geno Smith look? Went to the Colts game, they got a bit lucky in the end pardon the pun. raiders should of won it Geno was unspectacular yet solid. His offensive line didn't have such a great game but he did just enough to help his team win.49ers look like they're going to be just fine with Kaepernick playing as a pocket passer this season. Cardinals look much improved over last season.
Lamby Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 How on earth was that a TD for Packers? Didn't even break the line. Debatable one
