General Smuts Posted 13 September 2013 Author Posted 13 September 2013 Can't believe one of the first episodes of NFL - A Life in Football is about Tim Tebow: A 26 year old player who for one season started 11 games; was a back up for two other seasons and is now a Free Agent. But he did have great religious PR, which his team and the media milked the crap out of. This is the accompanying series to America's Game - which was one of the best NFL documentaries around. They better interview better players (more deserving) in the future. What a joke! Edit: Just researched and seen it's the second series, but the first Sky have shown. But still a joke that he's even considered for it. When you see the other players, coaches and owners on the series I can't understand why SKY chose this episode so early on. Where/When was this on?
Guesty Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Where/When was this on? Last night on SKY at midnight; directly before the Patriots Jets game. You should also watch a series called Hard Knocks, the last one I saw was the Jets with Rex Ryan a few years ago which was quite good. It's just started on channel 4 on Sat or Sun morning I think (first episode is on 4od). It goes behind the scenes in Bengals Pre-Season Training Camp. It's funny watching James Harrison's complete contempt for the camera crew.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Geno Smith played well but for a few Rookie mistakes, he has no real weapons which hurts, Pats got VERY lucky His three turnovers cost them the match. I'm not Sanchez fan at all but I'm sure the Jets win that game with him behind the offence yesterday.

Guesty Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I've got Hard Knocks on the go but must have missed out on this one. Shame. You didn't miss anything. There's not much to say about Tebow. Plus it was filmed last year before he'd been cut by the Jets and Patriots. Looking at other people some of the episodes are about they could be quite good though.
Jimmy Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 His three turnovers cost them the match. I'm not Sanchez fan at all but I'm sure the Jets win that game with him behind the offence yesterday. possibly, his turnovers were rookie mistakes though so I can't be too harsh on him, other then Santonio Holmes he doesn't have a genuine threat, they dropped a fair few stuff too
Head Honcho Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 I follow the Redskins. Just seen the update on RG3s knee yesterday and looks promising for start of season but not definite yet. Will be keeping a close eye on the draft. Ended up at the NFL UK tour at Old Trafford the other night. Interesting seeing the Vikings players and Jeff Reinebold talking tactics and the development of particular positions from their traditional roles. Tut tut http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2013/09/11/christine-brennan-washington-nfl-team/2802075/ Seems like nothing is sacred in PC World...
General Smuts Posted 14 September 2013 Author Posted 14 September 2013 Trying my football betting trick and putting a bet on Peterson to score first against the Bears. Free Bet so I'd rather lose the money and see the Bears win.

Jordan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Manning Bowl III is on this afternoon... The Giants' defensive line is gonna have to put in a big-time performance today because there's no way the Giants will beat Peyton if he has time to throw. If the Giants have to commit linebackers to blitz every play, Peyton will just toss 10-yard passes all the way down the field. The Giants will score points... But probably not enough. After betting against the Raiders and giving 11 points last week, I'm really tempted to back them this afternoon to win at home against a terrible Jaguars team. The line looks like it's 4 now, which I'm thinking about taking. All the other NFC East teams are playing early so I will watch the 1:00 kickoffs with great interest. 49ers at Seahawks should be worth staying up late to watch.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Eagles - San Diego for myself tonight.
Jordan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Eagles - San Diego for myself tonight. We've got Washington at Green Bay on Fox and San Diego at Philly on CBS, so I'll be flipping back and forth between those two ( although if I'm a minute slow with my remote, I might miss 15 Eagles plays if they're on offense).
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I've no idea what to make of that half. Littered with errors and sloppiness on both team's part.
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 Crazy game Bears Vikings. Fecking Sky missed the last Vikings TD. Cutler ****ed the Williams interception. Stupid mistake. Bears looking good though and Ponder looks shite. We should have a big scoring game here. Believe In Monsters.
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 I'm having a BIG week on fantasy as well. He's ran over 100 yards but McCoy is the only guy on my team without a TD today.
syston_fox Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I've got a stream of the packers game on. 24-0 up at half time against the redskins. should be 31-0 but Jones fumbled when diving for the TD at the end of the half. RG3 is not playing well at all.
Jordan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Looks like a really serious head/neck injury to the Chargers' Malcolm Floyd here
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 Need a Bears comeback for a 2nd week in a row. We've shutout Peterson massively and now it's a 6 point game. 3:15 to grab a TD. Eagles need to pull their pants up as well to keep my bet alive.
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 Cutler's just pinged the umpire. Hahahahaha
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 Regretting leaving DeSean out this week unless Marshall grabs the winning TD.
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 ....still suck 2 and 0 mother ****er!
