isaidno Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Higgins out , not a great shock for me. Higgins have been playing poor for a while and Davis has been climbing the rankings
kingfox Posted 22 April 2013 Author Posted 22 April 2013 Monday afternoon scores Higgins 6-10 M.Davis Maguire 3-5 Poomjaeng Davis beating Higgins is no real shock, Higgins has been in poor form. Davis played really good stuff, especially yesterday when I went. Despite being 40 years old, the guy is seriously quality and seems to be getting better with age. Poomjaeng is a revelation, missed the curtain when he came out, then walked to the wrong table, but he played seriously good stuff this afternoon and enjoyed himself, one really slow frame when Maguire was trying to get Snookers, but won the final frame of the session to keep himself in it.
isaidno Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 O'Sullivan should have an easy route to the semi finals now
kingfox Posted 22 April 2013 Author Posted 22 April 2013 O'Sullivan should have an easy route to the semi finals now Top half is wide open. If Murphy and Trump can find better form they will be dangerous, if they don't a qualifier could even make the Semis.
isaidno Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Ronnies quarter of the draw is quite easy, the second quarter has lots of big hitters in it. Murphy, trump,Stevens, dott.
isaidno Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Is there a limit on how late the Dott/ Ebdon match can restart . King and Allen don't seem to want to finish anytime soon , and the other match still has 2 frames left
Bert Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Is there a limit on how late the Dott/ Ebdon match can restart . King and Allen don't seem to want to finish anytime soon , and the other match still has 2 frames left Almost certain it had to be done tonight. Pleased to see Wollaston doing well.
kingfox Posted 22 April 2013 Author Posted 22 April 2013 Tonight's results Carter 5-4 Woollaston Allen 8-10 King Dott 10-6 Ebdon Ben had a decent lead over Carter, as he went into mid session 3-1 ahead, only to be pegged back by last years runner up, who then took the lead 5-4, which of course means that match will resume tomorrow, hopefully Ben stays with Carter, but I can really see Carter pulling away. First major shock in my opinion is King beating Allen, King always gets one very good result now and again, he beat Selby a couple of years back, now he knocks Mark Allen out of this years World Championship, Allen was 8-6 ahead, only for King to win the next four frames. Finally Dott only needed two frames tonight...luckily. Ebdon thankfully out, well done Dott and a great century to wrap up the win.
foxfanazer Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Trump v Dale match is really poor quality at the moment. Dale is actually missing the object ball altogether!
isaidno Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Woolaston and Selby both play tonight, not sure which match to watch
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 Trump v Dale match is really poor quality at the moment. Dale is actually missing the object ball altogether! Then Trump makes 142, probably just as you switched it over?
foxfanazer Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Then Trump makes 142, probably just as you switched it over? Yeah they switched it to the Maguire v Poomjaeng match. Typical
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 Yeah they switched it to the Maguire v Poomjaeng match. Typical Ahhhh too bad, will probably show the break again somewhere. Poomjaeng and Maguire is the match of the Championships so far, Poomjaeng is great.
foxfanazer Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Ahhhh too bad, will probably show the break again somewhere. Poomjaeng and Maguire is the match of the Championships so far, Poomjaeng is great. He is really likeable and very entertaining. Don't like trump so won't even bother finding that break tbh
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 This Morning and Afternoon scores Stevens 3-6 Fu Ding 7-2 McManus Trump 6-3 Dale Maguire 8-9 Poomjaeng(Will comeback tonight to finish) Stevens v Fu started pretty slow with both missing shots, Marco upped his game while Stevens still couldn't get going, but finished the session pretty well, to keep himself in the match at 6-3 behind. Ding and McManus was high quality and close at the beginning, but then Ding won five frames in a row, producing some very very good stuff. He doesn't have a good record at the Crucible, but when on form in my opinion he is the best player in the World, if he beats McManus he should make the quarters. Trump and Dale was evens at the beginning, bit scrappy in parts, but Judd managed to pull off breaks of 88 and 82, but the best bit of the first session was Judd's 142 break beating Walden's 140, so Judd's break is currently the highest. Finally Poomjaeng v Maguire has been the match of the tournament so far, Poomjaeng is a breath of fresh air, he is hilarious and is a very very good player, who has frustrated Maguire hence some very mad and erratic shots from Stephen, fingers crossed Poomjaeng can pull this off, it will be one of the biggest upsets ever, and if he wins he will face Michael White, that match up would be so good for the game.
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 where abouts in Leicester is Ben Woolaston from? Think he practices in Oadby.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Really nice to see some new faces this year. Most doing alright so far as well
brockmyster Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Think he practices in Oadby. He does ive been in there when hes doing so. Good start from selby aswell 5-1 up
brockmyster Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Well end of the day Wollastons gone down 10-4 to Carter, Poomjaeng wins final frame decider to take it 10-9 against Maguire and Selby ends the first session 6-3, however hes not been looking too sharp, highest break is only 46 so far
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 Tonight's scores Carter 10-4 Woollaston Selby 6-3 Selt Maguire 9-10 Poomjaeng Ben didn't win one single frame tonight, Carter smashed him in all departments, especially in long potting where Carter was faultless, Ben dream comes to an end Selby was 5-1 ahead, playing not particularly great as his highest break was about 40, Selt did well tonight, considering a poor start. Selby will most likely win though, but he really needs to get these big breaks going. Finally one of the biggest shocks I have seen for a while at the World Championships, what a player, what a legend Poooooooooooooom!!! Could of won it 10-8 but missed the brown, Maguire then cleared up, but Poomjaeng got amongst the balls in the final frame, showed no nerves, held his own and produced a class break to win the match. White v Poomjaeng next, battle of the debutants, should be exciting that one.
kingfox Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 At Jose's, First Break. Must be then, I didn't know. Picture of him in the Mercury showed him in a club in Oadby, so I just knew it was Oadby. He is out anyway, but I'm sure he will be back, Ali has a good record at the Crucible, and played decent stuff tonight.

Selby plays for their pool team, turned up one night and he was playing against us!
