kingfox Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 Would like to go some time. Be great to see Ronnie play but I bet that costs a bit more! It's all the same prices for all the matches. £20-£22 for first round and second round. Quarter final onwards is more. I got my tickets ages ago, before the draw and format was released so you don't know who is playing. But luckily I got Higgins v Davis, Robertson v Milkins, a potential second round match between O'Sullivan/Campbell v Carter/Woollaston, then a Semi Final match.
Voll Blau Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Shame Jimmy White didn't qualify. No chance of an all-Leicester final either. Wonder what ridiculous odds you'd get on that.
kingfox Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 Oh right. Might give it a go next year You should it's quality. Tickets are still available for this year, unless you work. But of course it's not far from Sheffield, and it's not far at all from the train station, up steps and up two small hills then your there. Shame Jimmy White didn't qualify. No chance of an all-Leicester final either. Wonder what ridiculous odds you'd get on that. Jimmy was never going to qualify I'm afraid. Probably about 1,0000000/1 if that's a number. But Ben is definitely worth a bet against Carter, if he brings his A game he could do well, but Carter has a good record at the Crucible. If you want a bet, there could be some value in the top half of the draw, Baird over Bingham, Davis over Higgins, Fu over Stevens and Gould over Murphy, could be worth a punt.
isaidno Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 I didn't realise woolaston is from Leicester. Never really heard of him .
Bert Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 I didn't realise woolaston is from Leicester. Never really heard of him . Been on the circuit for years. Got his breakthrough due to new format.
isaidno Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I've gone for Robertson @ 13/2 , and an outside bet on Stevens @ 55/1. I've got Stevens e/w so if he gets to the final I get half the odds.
kingfox Posted 19 April 2013 Author Posted 19 April 2013 Tomorrow's Order of Play 10:00 Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Marcus Campbell (Sco) Ricky Walden (Eng) v Michael Holt (Eng) 14:30 Shaun Murphy (Eng) v Martin Gould (Eng) Barry Hawkins (Eng) v Jack Lisowski (Eng) 19:00 Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Marcus Campbell (Sco) Mark Williams (Wal) v Michael White (Wal) Afternoon session looks very good.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 You do you know they have a few tickets for a lot of sessions. Not just the shittest and probably slowest game of the first round between Dott v Ebdon. I'm going Sunday to see Higgins v Davis in the afternoon. Crucible is a brilliant place, this is my fifth year. I have to book time off work 4 weeks in advance so can't get to a better game as I'm busy on Saturday too. Next year I'll be a bit more on the ball

FoxesAreBlue Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Couldn't you of gone to the afternoon session on the Sunday? Apparantly not, the website said "Buy Tickets" (or whatever) but when I clicked through it said none available so had to settle for the AM. But if a bugger really cos I wanted to train it up there but now have to drive! How does it work with the ear pieice things?
Salieri Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I've had a tenner on Selby to win (13/2), money back if Ronnie wins. (BetVictor)

But if a bugger really cos I wanted to train it up there but now have to drive! How does it work with the ear pieice things? That's weird I take it you went on Sheffield Theatres website? They put more tickets on sale for all sessions like 3-4 days ago. Never brought an ear piece, you have to pay £5 I think for one. Depends where you sit some people say, the further you are the more useful one is.

FoxesAreBlue Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Yeah it was weird, I just assumed it was a website cock up. I. Actually quite looking forward to it now i've got the telly on and watching it now. Only downside is that I'll miss the London Marathon coverage but that's what iPlayer is for.
kingfox Posted 20 April 2013 Author Posted 20 April 2013 This morning's scores. O'Sullivan 7-2 Campbell Walden 8-1 Holt Campbell a bit unfortunate with that scoreline, could of easily won three frames that he lost. O'Sullivan hasn't played that well, but two good breaks, and some good frame winning clearances. Walden playing really well against Holt, I favoured Walden but I expected this match to be much closer, Walden also hit a great 140 break.
kingfox Posted 20 April 2013 Author Posted 20 April 2013 Afternoon scores. Murphy 5-4 Gould Hawkins 6-3 Lisowski Was a good start from Gould, Murphy was really struggling but upped his game including a break of 112. Expected this to be close, all to play for coming back tomorrow. Solid session from Hawkins against Lisowski, a break of 97 and 100 from Hawkins one after the other, Jack was looking frustrated but won the last frame of the session with some good pots, very much still in this. O'Sullivan to a finish tonight, along with an interesting all Welsh tie between Williams & White.
kingfox Posted 20 April 2013 Author Posted 20 April 2013 Day 1 Over. Tonight's scores. O'Sullivan 10-4 Campbell Williams 4-5 M.White Comfortable for Ronnie, very good comeback, Campbell got a few more frames tonight, but was never going to comeback. Good return for Ronnie, I will definitely be seeing him now next Sunday, against either Carter or Woollaston Bright start from Michael White in his match against Williams, one to watch for the future, this kid is decent. Williams hit back very well, but White won the final frame of the evening going into tomorrow afternoon, that match will finish while I'm there watching the other table.
kingfox Posted 21 April 2013 Author Posted 21 April 2013 Heading to Sheffield now to watch Higgins v Davis. Which means no Kingfox on this forum today. Yeahhhhhhh open the Champagne.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Didn't get to go in the end, bit of a family emergency last night meant that I was far too tired for the drive. Got to watch the marathon on TV though so not all bad!
brockmyster Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Liked the look of Michael White could become good player in future
kingfox Posted 21 April 2013 Author Posted 21 April 2013 Home Michael White is a quality prospect, class player. But I was there watching the other table, Higgins started well going 2-0 up, Davis hit back to 2-2 then seemed to be in control from then on, Higgins was average, while Davis was playing some good stuff, very good player is Mark Davis, safety is good and he can hit some very good frame winning breaks, despite there being no centuries. See Lisowski got thrashed 10-3 by Hawkins, everyone bigging Lisowski up but he doesn't live up to his hype, he will be back though I'm sure.
isaidno Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I can't see Dott & Ebdon finishing there match. Still another 6 potential frames after this one left, and they have to be finished before 2pm
kingfox Posted 22 April 2013 Author Posted 22 April 2013 Monday Morning Scores Allen 4-5 King Dott 8-6 Ebdon(Resumes this evening) Both matches not particularly great this morning, Allen really couldn't find any rhythm, King frustrated him but he didn't play too well either, only towards the end of the session, all to play for coming back tonight. Dott and Ebdon was of course slow as you can tell by the score, with Carter and Woollaston starting, and Allen v King so close, they might not come back on till 10.
