If Selby can get a bit of rhythm going he could quite easily reach the final. Looking at the names, there is only Ding to worry about for Selby (if he's playing well of course).

Finally to end tonight.

Tonight's scores...

Bingham 10-2 Baird

M.White 7-1 Poomjaeng

Bingham v Baird didn't last very long, disappointed with Baird's performance, the lad is a lot better than that, we didn't really get to see his break building capabilities. Bingham has improved so much though and wrapped up the match with a break of 79. Mark Davis is up next for Bingham, that could be a real close one, two experienced players, playing very good stuff at the moment.

What can I say about Poomjaeng, the guy is absolutely nuts, after his display against Maguire, his celebrations, his water spill, and much more, it couldn't of got much weirder could it? But oh yes it did, good old Poomjaeng threw a frame away, after getting a miss rule, after missing the reds three times, which in all fairness were pretty wide open and easy to hit, a lot of laughing at his own shots again, and his trademark head slapping. Tonight's session will be all about Poomjaeng's antics again, but enough about him Michael White is a kid on the rise, and if he pulls this out of the bag, it wouldn't surprise me if he made the Semis, the kid is a class act.

More tomorrow :D

Especially for my friend Bert :D;)

Just got back, I'm sure many believed Robertson would be a sure bet to win the title, pundits probably thought the same thing in all fairness.

So this afternoon's scores...

Murphy 6-2 Dott

Robertson 8-10 Milkins

Only the first session of Murphy & Dott's second round match, but Murphy has a very healthy lead in this one, two centuries for Murphy today as well as a break of 99, seemed in class form, and as I said if he picked his form up which looks like he has, then I believe he could well get to the final, O'Sullivan, Trump and Bingham will also be dangerous I think, but I will have to favour Murphy at the minute.

Well we have seen some shocks this week, but despite Milkins being ranked 19th a lot will be surprised with this result. Robertson was poor, one of his worst displays I have seen, considering he did well yesterday. A lot of frames were close and scrappy, but Milkins won them all which was the key factor, he was simply the better player today and deserved the win. Because of this result then, one of Poomjaeng, White, Milkins or Walden will definitely reach the Semi Finals...shock!!!

I'm just watching the match on Eurosport now, and I was on TV quite a few times :D

:D

White looks a very decent player. Milkins doesn't score high enough or finish frames off when he can to be classed as a contender for me.

Hawkins is Selby's bogey player so that will be interesting.

White is class, youngest ever player to make a century break at the age of 9. A lot of youngsters coming through, we had Brecel last year, but he lost in the first round, we had Lisowski this year, but lost in the first round; however it seems White could well be the best of the bunch at this moment in time. He resumes tomorrow afternoon, if Poomjaeng doesn't come back at him, it could be finished with a session to spare.

Milkins is more than capable of scoring highly, I think today the whole feel of the match was on a knife edge all the time, I agree with you though when you say he can't be classed as a contender, in all fairness it might be another close match for him against Walden, but I can see Walden prevailing.

Hawkins has got Selby before, but Selby has been great all year, but saying that he didn't perform well against Selt until the latter stages of that match, I really like Barry Hawkins, and I have done for a while, one of the most improved players on the circuit, should be a good watch tomorrow.

Fancied Ding from the start. He's due the worlds. Fantastic textbook player.

Watch him closely, stance, cue action, and how still he remains throughout each shot and you'll learn a lot, especially if you play snooker or pool.

Yep Ding is a class act, like I said a few pages back, when on form he is almost untouchable, and can be classed as the best player in the world. He has won just about everything apart from the World Championships. If King pulls off another shock and beats Ding, I think I will cry.

I'm off bed soon anyway, more people should read this thread, they might think differently about me lol

Plaster Dott/Graeme "Static Shock" Dott is on the comeback.

Game of two sessions here, Murphy quality in the first session, Dott quality in the second.

Should be a tasty finish tonight.

I bet Bert has been looking forward to this moment all day.

Morning's scores...

Murphy 8-8 Dott

Selby 5-3 Hawkins

Game of two halves so far with Murphy & Dott, Murphy was quality yesterday, but this morning it was Dott's turn to pull out the good stuff and produce a very good display of Snooker, to end the session all level at 8-8. This sets it up for a fascinating finish this evening, could be a close one. Dott despite having static shocks, produced breaks of 59,61 and 56 in a row.

Meanwhile Selby v Hawkins has been a quality match up so far, heavy scoring by both players, while there were two closely fought frames, the final frame of the session lasted about 45 minutes but it was a great watch, with Selby clinching it on the black. Selby has made breaks of 98 & 103 this morning, while Hawkins has made breaks of 73, 52, 89 and 54. Great stuff from both players

This afternoon sees, the return of Poomjaeng taking on White, that match could well finish with a session to spare, while Trump v Fu kick off their match.

Amazing I love you all, but do the decent thing, sign in and praise my knowledge, and expert opinion like Bert did.

You're amazing kingfox.

Disappointed I don't have more time to watch more of this. (Snooker Championship, not thread)

Afternoon's scores.

Trump 6-2 Fu

M.White 13-3 Poomjaeng lol

Trump and Fu were evens at the start of the match, but after the mid session Trump came out and played some scintillating Snooker. Trump was on form this afternoon, a bit like Murphy yesterday afternoon, Judd was simply faultless. Judd made three centuries this afternoon, a 109, 127 and 112, and he finished the session off by making a frame winning break of 73. If he keeps this up and finds more consistency, he is a certain for the Semis in my opinion, the way he played today, was the way he played in 2011 when he got to the final, like I said if he finds form he will be a massive danger.

I thought the White v Poomjaeng match could easily finish with a session to spare, and I was right. Just not Poomjaeng's day, fame might of got to his head, he missed a lot of balls today, and White didn't really have to play that well to win. White of course dominated this match, and of course played really well at times, he finished the match with a century, plus he made breaks of 101, 65, 71 and 83 in the match. Michael White is a class act, Milkins or Walden next for him, a match up with them should suit his game, could well make the Semis if he keeps it up.

No Snooker for me tonight, as I will be off to the Leicester match of course.

Annoyed tonight, but might as well update this :)

Tonight's scores...

Dott 11-13 Murphy

Selby 9-7 Hawkins

Murphy v Dott was always going to be close after this morning's session. Murphy slightly the better player tonight, by scoring heavier than Dott and winning a frame on a re spotted black, definitely the key frame of the match that. Murphy the first second man through to the quarter finals, looks in decent form, but needs to find consistency in matches, because this morning he wasn't in the match at all.

Selby & Hawkins looks a good tussle, and as 9-7 shows it's still very very close between the pair. Didn't look the best of quality tonight though, considering both played really well this morning, Hawkins made breaks of 56 and 59 tonight, while Selby made a 57. Could be an exciting one tomorrow afternoon when they finish off, a match worth watching.

Just one match in the morning as White v Poomjaeng finished early, O'Sullivan and Carter start in the afternoon, while Trump v Fu comeback to finish tomorrow night after playing in the morning, while Ding v King kick off their Second Round match.

Saturday Morning Score...

Trump 9-7 Fu

Only one match this morning, but what a high quality session of Snooker that was. Marco Fu getting right back in the match, after simply performing brilliant Snooker after the mid session interval, he hardly let Judd at the table after the mid session interval, Fu racked in breaks of 117, 66 and 70 in consecutive frames to get back to 8-7; however Judd won the final frame of the session to go 9-7 ahead, a frame he really needed and would be relieved to of got. This finishes tonight, I still can see Judd winning it, but Fu played really well this morning, if he can do something similar tonight, it will be closer than expected.

This afternoon's scores...

O'Sullivan 5-3 Carter

Selby 10-13 Hawkins

Close start of the match between O'Sullivan & Carter, O'Sullivan started the better taking a mid session lead of 3-1, only for Carter to perform better after the mid session, to go into tomorrow afternoon just 5-3 down. O'Sullivan made breaks of 78 and 66 in frames 2 & 3, while after the mid session made a break of 125, but Carter came back and won the final two frames of the session. I'm making my third trip of the tournament tomorrow, to see the second session of this match.

Selby gone then, Bert said a couple of days ago Hawkins is a tricky customer and is Selby's bogey player, and that certainly proved to be right today. Selby didn't play well at all, Barry controlled the whole of today's session, Hawkins won 6/7 frames today. That has opened the bottom half right open, realistically it should be Ding who makes the final, but of course he hasn't had a good time at the Crucible before, only reaching the Semi Finals once, and apart from that run he has crashed out in R1 and R2 everytime. Hawkins has made his first ever World Championship quarter final, he has improved so much over the last couple of season's, great solid player who I enjoy watching. Must be something about table two though, Williams, Maguire, Allen, Robertson and now Selby have crashed out on that table.

Bring on tonight, Judd v Fu and King v Ding.
