Guest MattP Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Are you referring to Monocle's survey? Because they ranked the top 5 most livable cities as following:- 1 Zurich Switzerland 2 Helsinki Finland 3 Copenhagen Denmark 4 Vienna Austria 5 Munich Germany Monocle's Most Livable Cities Index 2012[8] City Country 2011 1 Zurich Switzerland (02) 2 Helsinki Finland (01) 3 Copenhagen Denmark (03) 4 Vienna Austria (06) 5 Munich Germany Never been to Helsinki so can't comment. Copenhagen is nice but fairly boring. Swiss obviously. Vienna is nice but I wouldn't live there. Munich is the bollocks to be fair, could move their like a shot. The area around the Marianplatz is among the best in Europe.
Guest MattP Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Isn't Helsinki an old gay's club in Leicester? Yep, I went in without knowing when I was 20ish. Bit of a shocker to say the least. Only noticed when both toilets were labelled 'men'.
Guest Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Yep, I went in without knowing when I was 20ish. Bit of a shocker to say the least. Only noticed when both toilets were labelled 'men'. You know they have photo's of everyone who enters don't you?
Guest MattP Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 You know they have photo's of everyone who enters don't you? I hope not, I was wank material at that age.
Guest Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 I hope not, I was wank material at that age. You'll always be that age for them.
Guest MattP Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 You do miss things though. http://www.buzzfeed.com/samjparker/things-northerners-miss-when-they-move-to-london
cambridgefox Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 You know they have photo's of everyone who enters don't you? is that so you don't have to turn around?
Carl the Llama Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 I don't speak French but I could if I wanted to, as could anyone. What's your point? Good luck with that mon vieux.
MooseBreath Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 Good luck with that mon vieux. You've got something to clear up in the gear grinding thread old boy
Carl the Llama Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 Clean your knickers out Moose, it's been dealt with.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 Yep, I went in without knowing when I was 20ish. Bit of a shocker to say the least. Only noticed when both toilets were labelled 'men'. Isn't "The Shocker" some sort of sexual move?
Carl the Llama Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 Isn't "The Shocker" some sort of sexual move? Two in the pink, one in the stink.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 Hmmm so not one you are likely to find in a gay bar, my mistake!
Guest Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Are there guys who actually like to rub cocks with other guys inside a woman?
Captain... Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Are there guys who actually like to rub cocks with other guys inside a woman? If you are referring to the shocker he means fingers, this will explain more: http://www.rotten.com/library/language/the-finger/shocker/ don't worry it is safe for work. If it is not related to that and you are just asking "out of curiosity" then PM me,
The Guvnor Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Spent 3 weeks in Canada last year close to Calgary in Alberta. What an amazing country with breathtaking scenery. We stayed at Banff for a few days and visited places around that area including lakes Minnewanka and the beautiful Lake Louise. If it was just me and the wife I would move there, however I have four kids, two in their twenties, and two under twelve which would make it difficult. Also my eldest son plays academy football and we have high hopes for him. Live the dream and don't have any regrets.

Guest Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 we have similiar places here in the UK, why not move to those places? The similar places here mantra is fine but in most countries you can get houses with land in those areas at a fraction of the price of English houses. Most people can't aford the dream house locations they think of in England. England especially the south is quite an overpopulated region.

Kidding aside, its true some of the house prices are high in ideal places, but not all....I know I have some properties in theose places. My guess is most people dont even look.

I like the Devon coast. I'd consider returning to Devon or Cornwall as long as my house is on the beach (preferably with it's own bit of beach) whenever I look (still for fun) there doesn't seem to be any available or the odd one with a high price. Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia have some bargains for anyone looking. I guess Greece will have too, now. btw PR, if you find someone looking for a swap from the devon/cornwall coast to the Aquitaine coast, I've got a couple of properties that I might exchange - business potential too. I wouldn't move back yet but it'd be a nice base for later on. In fact are there any local estate agents who specialise in international exchanges (they save so much tax).

I've been to most places in the UK and none of them hold a candle to the places I mentioned in Canada. Add the standard of living, size of houses, fantastic dining, etc If you have never been, add a visit to your wishlist you won't be disappointed.
