Rincewind Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 So Morrisons ignore the rule. A customer gets food poisoning. It is traced back to contamination by a prohibited item. The store is fined the employee responsible is disciplined. Same outcome but Morrisons have a black mark agaist them which could result in job losses. Or Morrison's could say to the employee 'I understand why you are doing it but as you have done the H/S course in food hygiene for kitchens you will know we cannot allow it. My job as well as yours will be in jeopardy.'
Vacamion Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 The disgrace is that people are clearly using Lee Rigby's death as a way of getting their 15 minutes of fame. Agreed. The price we pay for all the joys of the internet has been the last week of professional grief merchants, controversialists and what my dear old Dad used to call "shit stirrers". It's a Health & Safety story, not a Help for Heroes story.
Kitchandro Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 disgraceful ... and easy for you to say, why not express it with a big banner at a war memorial on remembrance sunday? free speech earned by the blood of others is even allowed to twats like you... no need to thank em, but don't insult them, they could of been your relatives.. So the guy who was murdered in Woolwich earned my right to free speech? I'm tired of everyone in the army being considered some kind of hero who's death is more tragic than anyone elses. I've never been anything less than grateful for what our men did in the WW2, so I don't know what war memorials or Rememberence Sunday have got to do with anything.
MooseBreath Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 its bullshit, on that basis nobody would have buttons, contact lenses, glasses, false fookin teeth or bad bleedin dandruff that might drop off..its all just crap.. I agree with you, it is a load of crap. Some of those things you mentioned are no doubt banned if you're preparing food. But like I said it isn't really the supermarket's choice. If you want to blame something, blame claim culture, because that is ultimately what drives through all the bullshit h&s rules.
MooseBreath Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 We should all listen to the voice of experience. Wimpy's has seen it fair share of 'big trouble'. Don't mention the missing, wet floor sign to Moosey, it brings back bad memories. You'd have a shot at being funny if only you could have a total personality transplant.

"all this fighting for the country nonsense, yawn " which is it? grateful or all just tiring? thought those in WW2 were fighting for the country... memorials and remembrance sunday is where you show some respect and gratitude.. rather than yawning at it all..ok?

I'm a proud Brit and a Unionist. I'll observe the 2 mins silence on 11/11. I would usually stand when the National Anthem is played and sing along. But even I am getting sick of my Facebook feed being full of posts saying stuff such as "like and share this to show support for our Troops" (as if THAT is going to help them) or griefmongers who didn't know Lee Rigby joining his RIP page and posting "GBNF", or pictures of candles or pictures of squaddies and their kids. It's like when Diana died. I'm not joining in, I'm afraid, I'd show respect to this poor victim (and his friends, family and colleagues). I'd take my hat off if the funeral cortege passed me. I'm not going to wail (in what pre-1997 was a very un-British way) and then acccuse everyone who doesn't wail with me of being a traitor.
Raj Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Agree wiv the minority on this one...tis all getting abit monotonous about the heroes stuff...Im sure they are not all heroes...i was more upset the lad was a young dad who leaves behind a 2 year old kid(as someone who has a young family). The army bit is no difference to me than if he worked at Tesco
Zingari Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 Yeah , Of course I would boycott them , but their pies and fresh made burgers are fookin luverly , So I'll have to drop out of this one , but I'm with you all in the spirit of it no surrender brothers !!
johnny the fox Posted 29 May 2013 Author Posted 29 May 2013 http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/morrisons-says-sorry-over-help-1920376 fook all the doubters..

davieG Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 Indeed. Because its impossible to spot a lapel pin badge when you're peeling carrots.. Stranger bigger and more noticeably things have been found in food. http://www.oddee.com/item_97193.aspx
MikeyT Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 Stranger bigger and more noticeably things have been found in food. http://www.oddee.com/item_97193.aspx Wouldn't fancy eating any of those, but would probably crap myself if a black widow spider trotted out of my bag of grapes. All people would see of me is a MikeyT shaped hole in the nearest door!
Dylan Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 If he works on the checkouts then I see it stupid not to let him wear it. However, if he works in fresh food production and its that small poppy badge (displayed in the picture), you can understand why he's been told to remove it. Could easily fall undetected into food, which could possibly leave Morrisons liable to be sued should it happen.
Vlad the Fox Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 You wouldn't even be able to wear it in a factory that just makes boxes for food.
