Had their last miserable penny out of me.. Have you read the article? They have health and safety guidelines they must follow, this was classed as in breach of it, he was asked to remove them, as he would have been any other bracelet, wristband, badge, because he works in the preparation of fresh produce. These same rules would apply in any other supermarket or place that prepares food, so you should probably bycott them, even though non of their workers have yet broken their dress code rules, disobeyed a direct request from management, then gone crying to the press because it is an emotive issue. Put it another way, would you feel the same if it was a surgeon who refused to remove a wristband when operating? Or wanted to wear his unwashed help for heroes t-shirt instead of medical scrubs.
Yojoe36 Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 A Morrisons spokesman explained that staff were generally prohibited from wearing extra items to prevent objects falling into food products He said: "It's all about food hygiene. The rules are the same in a restaurant kitchen as they are in a supermarket food preparation area. Either Morrisons is trying to get out of it, or this is a non-story.

Your right.. thats why they are donating 20 grand to the charity...obviously they don't think they are in the wrong..ffs
Captain... Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Your right.. thats why they are donating 20 grand to the charity...obviously they don't think they are in the wrong..ffs They don't but people are too busy to shout it's PC gone mad, when it isn't, he was wearing prohibited items and refused a direct request to remove them, he should be suspended. The fact it is for an emotive issue and they want to avoid bad press they have donated the money to show they support the Help for Heroes cause, but the guy remains suspended because he broke the rules and should be disciplined.
davieG Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 A petition has been started on Change.org to allow Mr Austin to wear his tribute to Lee Rigby and force Morrisons to make an apology, donating £20,000 to Help For Heroes. I thought that read as - the petition was to force them to contribute not that they had.
Voll Blau Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Are muslim headscarves part of the uniform??? Bizarre question.
Kitchandro Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 I'm more appalled that this guy felt the need to do this and then make an issue out of it, all because he has friends who have the same job as the bloke who died. It's like me breaking the rules at my job because a Uni student I don't know gets murdered.
Raj Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 People are beginning to belittle this poor mans death just to get abit of news coverage and jump on the bandwagon. Very sad.
johnny the fox Posted 28 May 2013 Author Posted 28 May 2013 Its a good job the lads who on the whole have less invested in the country but still go and fight for it ,are not sticklers for health and safety .or we would never be able to have won any fookin wars.. seems the only people allowed any freedom of expression are minorities or religious fanatics..sad state of affairs.

Shouldnt be in any wars AT the moment...but im sure thats another thread!
StanSP Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Apparently this letter was released yesterday. The incident also took place yesterday. There's no post on Bank Holidays. Furthermore, the post code does not exist. (It's written incorrectly, anyway). Surely they wouldn't get their own postcode wrong and there'd already be a template for lettering on their system? Two different Store Personnel Managers? And that title abbreviated to 'SPM'? Various grammatical errors and spelling mistakes also make me think this is some kind of hoax letter and someone crudely looking for attention. It just looks unprofessional overall.

All this 'fighting for the country' nonsense. Yawn.
Fox92 Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Disgrace if true. Not sure what is quite happening with this Country.
johnny the fox Posted 28 May 2013 Author Posted 28 May 2013 All this 'fighting for the country' nonsense. Yawn. disgraceful ... and easy for you to say, why not express it with a big banner at a war memorial on remembrance sunday? free speech earned by the blood of others is even allowed to twats like you... no need to thank em, but don't insult them, they could of been your relatives..
MooseBreath Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Perfectly understandable. Supermarkets have to be extra careful due to all the pathetic H&S crap in place. It's not their choice. Just takes one little error or some eagle eyed particularly cvntish member of the public to take issue and the business gets in big trouble, which all gets laid on the manager whose responsibility it was to follow correct procedure. If you've got any sense in that situation, you follow the procedure regardless of how stupid it is.
Jimothy Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Disgrace if true. Not sure what is quite happening with this Country. A disgrace that he works in food preparation and has been asked to remove extra items of clothing the contravene Health and Safety rules? It's really not a disgrace. He knows the rules and it's the same for everyone who works there. Fact of the matter is he would have had to remove them if they had "Morrison Supermarket is the greatest" plastered all over them. Just because its Help the Heroes and a soldier was recently brutally murder people are getting in a tizz over it. The disgrace is that people are clearly using Lee Rigby's death as a way of getting their 15 minutes of fame.

Jimothy Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Reckon foxy was on about it being a disgrace IF it was a hoax Possibly. I apologies if he was, because if it is a hoax it is a disgrace.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 I wonder what tomorrows story will be? I`m going for - "Muslim taxi driver runs over 5 year old girls cat".

We should all listen to the voice of experience. Wimpy's has seen it fair share of 'big trouble'. Don't mention the missing, wet floor sign to Moosey, it brings back bad memories.
