ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 okay so I was sorting through unwanted crap around the house and i found a collection of old records. I'm tempted to sell them, but I don't know what they'd be worth, anybody have any ideas? There's 70 of them in total, and they are in excellent condition and in a leather box Any help would be great Thanks
Fox92 Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Got Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with the cardboard cutouts? I'll have it
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Go on eBay, type in the album titles (individually) and see what other examples are going for. Also note what label it was released on, release date and especially on older albums, whether it was mono or stereo. All affect what collectors will be willing to pay. The rarer the better, though condition is very important.
Guest MattP Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 As Trav says get to Ebay. No idea what they are worth but my Dad sold a load back in about 1990 and he regards it as the worst thing he has done, would be worth a lot of money now.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 20 June 2013 Author Posted 20 June 2013 what ya got, I might be interested. they're 7" ones.. theres some michael jackson, bon jovi, whitney houston, cliff richard... typical 80's music
purpleronnie Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 they're 7" ones.. theres some michael jackson, bon jovi, whitney houston, cliff richard... typical 80's music Ok not my cuppa tea. Condition is everything, if your going to sell them on ebay you should really grade them appropriately or you may well recieve poor feedback. Check to see if you have any rare ones (unlikely) there are plenty of places that will buy job lots off you.
hairy Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 they're 7" ones.. theres some michael jackson, bon jovi, whitney houston, cliff richard... typical 80's music Not a lot I would have thought but you can check them out at www.discogs.com to see what sellers are asking for.
Renart Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 I would try this place: http://www.discogs.com/marketplace Not a lot I would have thought but you can check them out at www.discogs.com to see what sellers are asking for. I was beaten to it! If you sign up then you will also have access to the forum there. Usually quite helpful. A lot will depend on the press and the condition. You might still want to put them on e-bay as a 'job lot' (if you really want to sell them) but at least this way you might get an idea of what they are worth individually and if there is anything that might be worth a little extra in there.
Rincewind Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 When you said old thought you might mean 60's or 70's or maybe even some 50's when the 7" first started to be pressed. I have a load too some singles some LP's they are from late 60's to 80's. Not great condition as I used to play them. Just check record sites out. You can still buy them on Leicester market see what they sell them for and go from there.
MrsJohnMurphy Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 This is a great website www.popsike.com contains every record ever sold on ebay to make more than £20.

Filbert_Ross Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 I've got a load of Hard House records that have got to be worth an absolute fortune. Or probably £0.
Orkneyfox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Got some Beatles original 45's in the attic, plus "You really got me" by the kinks. All in original covers - oh and a South Afican pressing of Beatles for Sale album. Must check this out. May even have Tie me Kangaroo Down sport somewhere.
