Mike the Metal Ed Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 In trying to find one, I've unearthed Colchester v Wycombe. http://www.chairboys.co.uk/history/colchester.htm
Fox92 Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Mansfield-Chesterfield. (Hangover from Miners' Strike. There'll be plenty of 'Scab' chants coming from the Field Mill away end) I live near Mansfield, know a few people from there, and that definetly is a local/fierce derby. Well, it is to me anyway. I know a lot of people have different percepctives of derbies; should Leeds v Sheffield Wednesday really be counted? Just that it's Yorkshire. There's not really anything obscure about that. The Turks are mental and attack everything that moves and - whilst I loathe them - Leeds are fairly right to hold a grudge!! I agree, I didn't mean it to come over as anything else Just that I saw the OP and thought we just weren't taking league positions and geography into it.
Vacamion Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 UEFA's newest member, Gibraltar, to be kept apart from Spain in the draws for qualifiers. For some reason, Spain had objected to Giibraltar's membership...
bovril Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 What's the reason for this one then? Genuinely quite curious. King's Lynn are a bit like the Millwall of non-league. Coalville also have a pretty 'passionate' following for that level of football. Two years ago the teams met in the FA Vase and there was crowd trouble in Norfolk. Also accusations of racist abuse directed to some Coalville players (wouldn't surprise me having watched football there for many years). This year Lynn finished 1st in the Evo-Stik league and Coalville 2nd. The league game was again marred by trouble, again there were accusations of monkey chants, although I was there and didn't hear anything. Maybe a case of Lynn's reputation preceding them.
Dan Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Kings Lynn I always thought the rough non-league side was Boreham Wood.
lavrentis Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Sure Galatasary aren't known for their hospitality, but walking into a rough area in Istanbul and wiping your arse with the Turkish flag is never clever. U wot
bovril Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 U wot I've read and heard that Leeds fans were wiping their arses on Turkish flags and money. May or may not be true, lots of these stories get embellished after the fact.

May or may not be true, lots of these stories get embellished after the fact. Well no good listening to rumours tbh, even if they are true its absolutely no excuse for a stabbing. Vile act by those Galatasary fans and disgusting by football authorities who took a blind eye to it

Ashley Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 http://thechriswhitingshow.wordpress.com/2013/07/02/obscure-football-rivalries/ Here's my blog on it You could of added this to Leicester v Chelsea "Chelsea don't like Leicester.. They call um nasty"
Fox92 Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Isn't the Chelsea thing more on our part? I know it's obviously an older rivalry, but no football fan I speak to as ever heard of it. I've been on the Chelsea forum and someone said they sing 'and Leicester' because of something to do with the signs on the motorway (a lot of clubs sing that song though, including Arsenal). It's sort of in the past and out of the way now, isn't it? Just like others in the game, I mean, ask how many Sunderland fans hate Coventry?
Lamby Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Us and Southampton. The tale of it is that years and years ago our "firm" beat up their "firm" in Greenwich, and ever since then they've tried to beat up any of our fans they see. It's gone off in the police escort to the station both times I've been down there.

Donald McIntyre got a few Chelsea lads sent down for trouble with Leicester!

I didn't say these rivalries were all withstanding
Fox92 Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 I wouldn't say so. I didn't say these rivalries were all withstanding I know you didn't, I never said you did. Also, I browsed the Chelsea forum because someone started a thread about it. None of them seemed to care.
Soar Fox Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Didn't a load of Chelsea fans get off at Narbrough train station and smash a couple of pubs up in 2000/2001?
Guest MattP Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Coalville V Kings Lynn certainly is one Yep, it's kicked off in the last 3/4 fixtures between the two now hasn't it? The Chelsea rivalry with us has gone down a bit but they were pissed off at our behaviour in the League Cup match when 6,000 turned up pissed and completely took the piss taking over every pub on Fulham Broadway.
aefevans Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 According to who? This forum, perhaps? There are a couple of other football forums floating around, and any gloating comment about Watford seems to come from a Foxes fan...

Meh, not from me. Got nothing against you lot, you're just another team that beat us in the play offs. I'm not one for all that 'we need revenge' rubbish, it's football and you beat us.

aefevans Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Same here. No beef with Watford at all and can't really understand anyone who has. Then everything's okay!
Swalker Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Same here. No beef with Watford at all and can't really understand anyone who has. Look on twitter. Watford fans have started trolling us and palace fans then whenever we say anything back they love playing the victims. They seem to want to make a rivalry with us not Leicester fans wanting one with Watford
