It was the same on 11 & 13 (I never had a working 12) but there's something seriously addictive about Ligue 1 that I can't quite put my finger on. What's your best finish with them ?The players and board seem to be happy with mid-table first season, to be honest I'm hoping to push for the Europa league.
Beliall Posted 19 December 2013 Posted 19 December 2013 I've had a feud going on with our Nigel for years now I've got the better of his Tranmere like the last 4 times we've played, and now we're in different leagues as I got promoted to the Championship, bless him. everytime i play the kaiser chiefs, i get the comments from the press about the "ongoing feud" i reply with the FM equivelent of "i dont give a F***" and he replies "that shows some mental fragility" STFU!! then i get caned 4-0 and it continues.....

Definitely agree with this. Especially at the start of the season. Also, use the 'get left behind by your rivals' line if possible. Board find it hard to disagree with that and reject that.

I wouldn't be expecting too much in your first season because they've got no money to spend and their team isn't great, although I fail to believe there's only one squad worse like the media prediction says. They're a good club to manage. Got a good youth system, a big ground (which they about half fill most of the time admittedly) and a competitive arch rival, and it appears they've now got a bit of money too. On 13 I think my best finish was third but I think I had about £2mil a year to spend over 8/9 seasons so it wasn't bad. Lost in three cup finals (one of them when I was in Ligue 2 and that was to another Ligue 2 side...horrific) but did qualify from my CL group, however 14 came out as soon as that happened so I guess I'll never know If bloody Lorient can win the league so can I.

Too many shots hitting the bar and going narrowly over is my pet hate.

Anyway, after getting promoted first season with Luton and now preparing for League 2 I have brought in some real experienced players GK - Mike Politt - 42 RB - Ben George - 20 CB - Steve Mcnulty - 30 CB - Danny Higginbotom - 35 LB - Lee Desmond - 19 CM - Rory Delap - 38 CM - Steven Hetherington - 21 CM - Matt Oakley - 36 CAM - Jari Litmanen - 43 ST - Jon Shaw - 30 ST - Victor Zapata - 20 I will probably be switching the side around as they may not last full matches But I'm in real need of a striker as both of my striker didn't score many last season. Any suggestion for league 2 level? The best I can find on the free agent list is Marlon Harewood at 34 Also I could do with some wingers for a formation change, Seems to be none good enough on the free agent list

Sacked Ranieri, appointed Gullit and absolutely flew up the table and if they hadn't choked at the end they'd have won the league. I beat them 2-0 at home fully expecting them to end their bad run but they were played off the park by us. The away game... they were flying and I'd say we edged it in a 0-0. Can't see them being too generous this time around. It's PSG who do my head in. I've never beaten them. What team do you use anyway? I've found that Djilobodji is their best player. Found that Riou is crap and Zelazny's better (although I've just signed Stech on a free who's better than both), their full backs are appalling although Cissokho despite his awful attributes seems to do well. The long named Venezuelan defender is an absolute donkey even though the staff think he's the best player, Cichero is decent, the midfield are OK but young and will improve (love Veretout). Gakpe in the ressies is very decent and I've brought him back into the first team, the forwards are quite hit and miss but neither of them are that bad. Just rumours surrounding particular formations that tore apart the game before, which have now become less effective since the update...just sort of what the forums are suggesting
