silebyboy Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Can anybody help me out as I know next to nothing about computer specifications and the like. I bought this game earlier today (as mentioned above) and the guy who served me told me to ensure my laptop could run the game alright before I opened it. It's just a cheap laptop I bought new in about 2008, an Acer Aspire 5920 which I hardly ever use except for a bit of web browsing now and again. It was fine with FM 09 so I'm hoping it'll be ok now. Spec's as follows: Processor Processor type Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 Processor speed 2000.0 MHz Display Display size 15.4 inches Resolution 1280 x 800 pixels Graphics Graphics Type Discrete Primary Graphics Chipset nVidia GeForce 8600M GT General Information UPC Code 099802043124 Ports and Connections Available Interfaces Infrared Ethernet Type 10/100/1000 Mbps Memory Memory size 2048.0 MB Memory type DDR2 SDRAM Memory speed 667.0 MHz Storage Media Memory stick Memory Stick SD card Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Far Post Gerry Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 First season with City seemed pretty familiar - up to 2nd in November, only for wheels to fall off massively after Christmas, then a late surge saw us sneak into the play-offs on final day. Then lost in the semis to Blackburn (3-2 on agg, after being 2-0 up in first leg). Now we're in the financial shit. Sold Knockeart for 10m, James for 5m and Drinkwater for 1m. Signed Fran Merida, Sam Hutchinson, Lasse Vigen on frees, and a tie-up with Liverpool meant I got Coates and Robinson on loan. Still spending over wage budget though, and can't shift Gallagher, Waghorn or Futacs. Hopes not high for this season...
21st Century Fox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 I still haven't had a crack with Leicester yet. Has anyone managed to hold on to Knockeart for a significant amount of time? I've only seen people mention that they've ended up having to sell him. About 6/7 years into my Empoli save, I see he's at Marseille and valued at £27million.
Dan Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 I've got him at Nantes and he's easily my best player. Set me back £8mil but it's proving worth it. We're still pathetically inconsistent. I seem incapable of staying in the top half. This game really is solid.

Did go as high as ~£18m at one point though.

I seem incapable of staying in the top half. This game really is solid. I've found it a breeze compared to 13 After 7 seasons at Wrexham, we're now a solid Championship side. I managed to finish 16th in my first season at this level, and in my second season at each level, we've been promoted. I've won the first three games of the season, but I can't see that continuing! Financially stable (although everything is on a much smaller scale to other Championship clubs, for example my wage budget is £79,000pw) and with pretty much the squad and staff I want. Bar the disastrous 15 or so game spell in my Lincoln career (where we were bottom with a GD of roughly -33), this game has gone pretty much perfectly thus far
Haydos Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Just had my highest competitive win, beating Blackburn 8-1 away. I played a this weird lopsided formation and my RWB got a hat-trick.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 After two seasons left to PSG for 10mill. Just had my highest competitive win, beating Blackburn 8-1 away. I played a this weird lopsided formation and my RWB got a hat-trick. wtf is that
Haydos Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 After two seasons left to PSG for 10mill. wtf is that Right...So 2 complete wing backs bombing up and down all day. The LWB was actually a winger because my 2 LB's were inj/sus so I thought I better give him some cover with Kondogbia. CM is a deep lying playmaker (for balance sake, obviously). Hernandez is an advanced playmaker with Brandt playing slightly ahead as a Treq. Fernandez played as a false nine (and got 3 assists) and as Gomez is rapid I wanted him getting in behind their back four in an advanced role. Kind of worked out but obviously I didn't plan for my RWB to be so effective
Dan Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I really am struggling to make sense of that Just had a nice 0-4 win at Tours. I owed them that after the little shits took me to penalties after I'd had 39 shots to their 3. I still won but I hadn't forgiven them for lowering my players' fitness further Handed a dreaded trip to Stade Rennais next round. For fvck sake man.

Bar the disastrous 15 or so game spell in my Lincoln career (where we were bottom with a GD of roughly -33), this game has gone pretty much perfectly thus far I find it much harder. A serious challenge to be consistent over the course of a season and every single time I think we're improving, we come in for a thumping and everything's gone wrong again. Won 4, drawn 2 and lost 1 of my last 7 which is decent for us. I suppose being 11th when predicted 15th isn't bad but it's nothing to write about.
Ozwin Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Just won the Copa Sudamerica in my 2nd season. Started as Sport Recife who were in the 2nd division. Smashed it.
RonnieTodger Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Think it's terrible to be honest. Too many freak results and unrealistic tables. Everything is much better but the most important thing, the outcome. Doing a Rangers file and we knocked Dundee Utd out of the cup, then lost to East Fife 4-0 in the same week. I've won the league, but it's been pitiful. West Brom look good for a Champions League place, and 9th place Man Utd have knocked Barca, Real and Bayern out of the Champions League.
Dan Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 This really is fvcking vomit inducing. All the luck in the bastard world.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 This game feels so random, I actually believe that in the other fixtures player quality .etc. doesn't matter it's all randomized. These results are bizarre. In the semis of the FA Cup three second division teams made it. One being rock bottom with a win from 21 in the league.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I'm so pissed right now, the league goes down to the final day. Sigma are top and in the drivers seat. I need to win against Plzen and for them to draw/lose to win the league. They lose 2-0. I go the whole game dominating, I go 1-0 up in the second half, they get a quick equliser straight from the break and we're back to square one again. We make it 2-1 and then Tecl, the guy who is joining me in the summer on a free scores a goal against me costing me the league. Oh and to add insult to injury, Konate gets a goal in "fergie time" and it's disallowed. **** this game.
Dan Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 that really is absolute AIDS. I think I've finally cracked it. Finally looking a consistently strong side. Knockaert's got to be one of the best players on this game, surely? 8.56 from his last 5 games for me. My team is... Pillot Solly - Djidji - Djilobodji - Torres Nilo Ntep - Deaux - Veretout - I.Dia Knockaert Hauche Subs; Faure, Cissokho, Trebel, Bouriaud, Gakpe, Ndongala, Araujo Would love Ntep at the end of the season. Got him on loan from Auxerre who went straight back down after promotion and couldn't afford him. He was a joke on the left, constantly cutting in, shooting from 35 yards and never scoring. Stick him on the right and he's beating players, crossing at better times and he's actually finding the net with some of these shots. Hauche reminds me a lot of Vardy. Bouriaud is a very tidy youngster. I intend to have him regularly in my side in the next year or two. Largely rotates with Veretout at the minute with the latter being favoured. Pillot seems like my first 'keeper who isn't an absolute pile of shite. Cost me under £100k and is on £900 a week I don't intend to keep him there for years but he's very decent value for money. Deaux must've made more appearances for me than any other player in FM history and the saddest thing is he's a solid but unspectacular defensive midfielder. I must be awful.

Shots: Rangers 24-4 Arbroath
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 My odds are 7-4 to get sacked and the board are refusing to offer me a new contract. Think I might have to bail, keeping my eyes on the Dynamo Kiev situation.
Stadt Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 The strangest thing that has happened to me on it was Wes Morgan scoring a hat trick against Hamburg.
