Guest ttfn Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2IO5ifWKdw That point about the yield is bullshit. Effectively it double-counts the inheritance tax point. Yields in central London and on properties with reliable tenants (such as those properties owned by the Crown Estate) are lower than the national average. This is a market fact, not inefficiency. These properties are held for capital appreciation and steady, low-risk, reliable returns.
purpleronnie Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Feel sorry for the poor baby. Well that's something the baby will never be.
Guest MattP Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Feel sorry for the poor baby. Yeah it's going to be a nightmare sucking on Kate's nipples to start your life before getting to 16 and being able to fanny around the World being able to shag any girl you want. Hes going to wish he was at the back of a queue of Africans waving at Madonna with half a dozen flies eyeing him up.
Rincewind Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Feel sorry for the poor baby. That statement is so ironic. Poor is something it will never be.
Finnaldo Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 That statement is so ironic. Poor is something it will never be. Yet he'll never be free to do what he truly pleases. Whereas we may be economically vulnerable for most our lives, we have the freedom of being unknown to the wider world, we don't have to act a certain way from birth to avoid scrutiny from others. We can do what we please as the media isn't interested if 26 year old Jim shags 5 birds during a all-nighter,whereas Prince Jim would be front of the newspaper and be received as disappointing his kin. Obviously he'll have far from a hard life, but he'll never have the choice in life to turn it down either, an opportunity us subjects have.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 8 lbs 6 ounces she 's going to need a big boy to keep her happy now Wills . Don't be surprised if you don't touch the sides for while ( this didn't happen to me of course ) You never did reach the sides? Far too much Information there

Rincewind Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Didn't the Belgium King abdicate because he felt he could not carry out his duties? I would much rather have a Monachy like the continentals. They behave normally and are not headlines if they sneeze.

Harry - LCFC Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Can I ask why people love the monarchy so much? What's your reasoning?

To be honest if Harry came out and said, "fvck this shit for a minute, i'm going to spend the next three years banging a bird from every country in the world before settling down with a posse of teenage Venezualan pole dancers", would anyone really blame him? He'd probably have more supoort than he has now.

We invented Belgium, lightweights with no history apart from other nations battles being fought on their turf They do have a better class of homeless types though, I`ll give them that.

Guest MattP Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Can I ask why people love the monarchy so much? What's your reasoning? Huge fan of history and tradition. Firmly believe a constitutional monarchy is the best form of government out there. They make us a hell of a lot of money. After spending the last few days in London it also makes you very proud to be British the way you see how jealous and envious the tourists are of us having them.

I am Rod Hull Posted 23 July 2013 Author Posted 23 July 2013 Can I ask why people love the monarchy so much? What's your reasoning? 1000 years of history and ceremony, Politicians bow down to them, a rallying point for us in times of woe, the human touch, spiritual guardians of our freedoms, pisses the Irish off... the list is endless. Now you tell me what would fill the void if they went!? a Tony Blair or a Dwayne Rooney? Dont cut your nose off to spite your face EDIT: You are probably more excited about the new Jayz album than your own culture... Fair`does

I personally prefer my head of state to be in office on merit i.e. where the best (in theory) candidate is selected. Out of the points you've made I really struggle to see how one could think that a monarchy, where individuals are given power simply for being part of a specific family, could be considered the best form of government that exists today - Could you explain that a bit further please? Tradition, yes, it's perfectly reasonable to want to be proud of your country's history. Although many traditions have since become outdated so I don't accept that we should continue with something purely because we've done it for many years previously. Money, yep, hard to argue with that. Although I imagine we'd still do okay if we kept the castles, beefeaters etc. and just got rid of the monarchy. Wouldn't be the same admittedly. I also find it amusing that tourists are jealous of the royal family, I find it rather embarrassing myself as I explained in a previous post. (http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/89487-the-royal-baby/#entry2670687) 1000 years of history and ceremony, Politicians bow down to them, a rallying point for us in times of woe, the human touch, spiritual guardians of our freedoms, pisses the Irish off... the list is endless. Fair`does So the sarcastic insults used to try and look superior are hauled out. Incorrect, naturally. It's not that I'm disinterested in what's important as you suggest, on the contrary I actually believe you are the one excited about JayZ's new album but in the form of the most recent addition to the royal family. A meaningless event that has no bearing on your life yet you feel compelled to celebrate it nonetheless. I find it rather ironic to tell you the truth, your little comment is more applicable to your view in my opinion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome Very good
