I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Best wishes to William and Kate on the imminent birth of our future monarch God save the Queen and may she live forever more
Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 We went quite a while before this thread. Well done Foxes Talk. Except I am Rod Hull, shame on you.
Danizen Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 #BlackRoyalBaby Just imagine. I imagine there would be 'complications' during labour and neither mother nor baby would survive.Edit- Then we'd definitely get a day off!
marko Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I look forward to the sprog being popped out, so I can not give a shit about something else.
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Don't care if I'm honest either way. I'm pleased another human is entering the World, but the monarch doesn't mean anything these days anyway. What do they do apart from take our money and wave to us?

I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2013 Author Posted 22 July 2013 I`m hoping for a girl, the girls do a great job.... Anne, Victoria, Elizabeth I and II, truly great monarchs
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I'm not remotely bothered about the most recent addition to that backwards institution. It irritates every time I hear someone say how pleased they are to hear about another meaningless adventure the monarchy have embarked upon. It's an embarrassment that a civilised nation still permits that arrogant bunch to collect its ill-deserved privileges from us.
Rincewind Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 It is the hangers on I object to most. Third cousins removed who have no chance of accending to the throne unless they followed the script of Kind Hearts and Cornets.
I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2013 Author Posted 22 July 2013 Countries with a constitutional monarchy are the happiest places on Earth to live in so why are so many of you against it Bravado?

How is this still relevant in an increasingly secular society?

leicsmac Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Countries with a constitutional monarchy are the happiest places on Earth to live in so why are so many of you against it Bravado? Not that I'm against the Royal Family so long as they bring more money into the countries coffers than they take out. Pretty sure that's true at the present time. And you definitely can't trust 'elected representatives' in this day and age. So it's devil and deep blue sea.
Rincewind Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 There were several kings/queens rulling different parts of these islands pre=Roman times and the fought each other for the right to rule. Does that mean any person has the right to challenge the riuling monach to a fight to the death for this right?
Swarles Barkley Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 @BBCSporf: BREAKING: Despite earlier rumours, the #RoyalBaby is not Australian, as it'd be out by now.
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 The right to rule comes from The Crown which is passed down from God. How is this still relevant in an increasingly secular society? Indeed. That hierarchy you've described does of course mean the UK is technically still a theocracy i.e. God is officially the head of state. Oh dear. The suggestion that God is governing the country I live in Nope.
Vacamion Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 On time and a half and rubbing his orange hands together...
