Why do some people actually dislike Pearson as manager

No there isn't but Pearson did win promotion with us, and get us into two play-offs. When you say 'he will never win anything' you are clearly the one living in a world of your own, because he already has. And win percentages would make Sven - and Pearson for that matter - a better Leicester manager than Martin O'Neill, which should tell you all you need to know about reading into them.

 

Now I was of the school of thought that, should the club have the resources to do so, there would have been a reasonable argument to fire Pearson towards the end of last season because of an apparent lack of progress. That doesn't mean I don't believe he can still do it, just that our outlook may - at that moment - have been better elsewhere. So I'm not a Pearsonite at all. But I've heard some pretty extreme nonsense from people who are, and some equally daft stuff from people who aren't - but the drivel you've just come out with is so utterly deranged that I can only assume you've spent the past twenty months weeping in your candle-lit Sven shrine (something like the priest from The Omen's bedroom springs to mind), driving needles into the Pearson doll or sobbing into the Sol Bamba pillow case.

Peter Taylor inherited a great squad that was assembled and refined by O'Neill over the course of five (!!) years and turned it into a pile of mash - we were top for two massive weeks at an early stage that season, and that was about it.

Holloway is an enigma.

I think at City, he took over a failing team. One that was on the decline. Unfortunately he didn't improve matters any.

At Blackpool he did brilliantly. No doubt about it.

Where I take issue with your post is with your comments about Palace. Freedman had done well. But it could have easily been that Ollie taking over resulted in a decline (managerial change etc). Instead, he held on and got them promoted, tactically outclassing a very savvy Zola in the final. To dismiss this as all Freedman's work is frankly, cobblers and just helps you to make an argument. Where have I said that before?
