Uncle Albert Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 No, but it would certainly make sense. When and how did you hear this Ted? Anyone got any information on IQRA, we've got them in County Cup.

Unfair to say who but a very reliable source. Heard it this weekend that negotiations are ongoing. IQRA are the Somalian team I think that play on Vicky Park.. not played against them but we have them in a cup too.

Pretty sure they're a bunch of Somalian/African lads. They had a team under the same name at 6 a side. Technically quite decent but don't like getting tackled.

Technically quite decent but don't like getting tackled. Yeah, they love a good brawl. I'm fairly certain they played on the pitch opposite us on Vicky Park last season and scuffles were always breaking out.

Fair enough, encouraged by you saying they're are in negotiations though, try keep us updated. If they don't like a tackle and like to have a scuffle they may come unstuck against us then haha.
Maybes Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Been drawn in the Country Cup against FC Poplar, Division 2, CSL. Seen they've lost 5 from 5...anyone know much else about them?
Uncle Albert Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Yeah Maybes, that's my mates team and a lot mates play for them, on their day they're not a bad team but they're not the fittest of lads and have been struggling to get eleven players every week. Got some good footballers and if they can get Scott Maclennan and Lee Dawson there for the game then they have got goals in their team.
Tevez Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 Yes mate. Started every game so far, quite enjoyable. We can bump into you in the county cup I think! Fancy us to do well in that, got a nice second round tie against Mountsorrel!! Played Thringstone tonight 4-1 up 65 minutes gone and cruising. Then the lights go out, we both mutually agreed that the result should still stand. Also anyone know anything about Albion from Hinckley League? Got them in the County Cup. I know a few ex Caterpillar lads used to play for them. Kirkby Town in the FA Cup on Sunday, 33 Seater on route to Notts. Can't bloody wait.

Certainly looks that way, although why we're in the vase when we're in Division Two I'm slightly unsure they used to put Meashem in the Trophy when they we're in Division 3 so the mind boggles. We've got a rather difficult tie against Ravo though, who we've got in a big league game the week before as well . It's only really them, us, The Saints who you probably know more about than me, and possibly on their day Greenhill who stand any chance of doing anything in that in our division, I'd say your's is probably better overall funnily enough. Think our smallest winning margin has been 5 goals so far in the league, standard is not great.

Saints will be decent mate, think it will be between you and them!! 2 of the lads plays for us on sundays and when they are on it they are very good. Played Senior league prem so just a little pointer mate. Old Division 3 is a tough battle!! Horrible playing teams that just launch the ball, get a sore neck from time to time!!
Ashley Posted 18 October 2013 Posted 18 October 2013 Yeah Maybes, that's my mates team and a lot mates play for them, on their day they're not a bad team but they're not the fittest of lads and have been struggling to get eleven players every week. Came to you lot from us.
Uncle Albert Posted 18 October 2013 Posted 18 October 2013 You've got a good player in Geary lofty. Came to you lot from us. Haha little Rooney! Ask Wilko about his hat-trick against Sileby Aths, quality. He's a quality Sunday league player, does not stop running and has got quality. Hopefully he brings his A-game Sunday for our FA Cup game.

Rusty or whatever his name is doesn't play for them does he . Just found out we've got them soon but I've got a minor operation on my eyelid a week and a half before the game so I'm probably not going to be able to play. Yeah, I think there are some decentish teams in there as well though, along with a lot of crap
Uncle Albert Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Won 2-1 yesterday v T8's the Nottingham County Cup winners in the Sunday FA Cup, great game down Barrow Town, probably didn't deserve to win but we never gave up and got a winner with 5 minutes to go. Joe Geary with the winner. Drawn at home in Round 2 v Hundred Acre from Birmingham, shame it wasn't an away game but we will always back ourselves to beat anyone down Barrow, then hopefully we can get a big away game.
Father Ted Posted 27 October 2013 Posted 27 October 2013 Won 10-0 today, saved a penalty at 7-0, 2 minutes later, we win a penalty which I take and score with a Kermorgant dink
Ashley Posted 27 October 2013 Posted 27 October 2013 Won 2-0 today. Clean sheet for me I've converted to a keeper
SystonFox Posted 27 October 2013 Posted 27 October 2013 Won 10-0 today, saved a penalty at 7-0, 2 minutes later, we win a penalty which I take and score with a Kermorgant dink That's just taking the piss and not in a good way. Flash bastard. We got done 11-0 against Vale FC. Last three games have been 0-9, 0-8 and now 0-11. Something is really wrong. Work rate is non existant
Uncle Albert Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Beat FC Hob 4-2 yesterday morning, horrible conditions to play football in but we've now won 7 games in a row and 6 league games in a row. Got IQRA FC on Sunday, not heard anything from them as the contact number given for them isn't correct. We got a team called Hundred Acre in the 2nd round of the Sunday FA Cup at home (Barrow Town), apparently they have a few Coalville Town lads so not expecting much but you never know I guess.
Narborough_fox Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Still unbeaten so far this; played 8, won 7 and drawn 1. Won in the League cup yesterday, beating the leaders of the division above us 5-4 AET (conceded with the last kick in normal time) putting us through to the 3rd round! Absolutely loving this season so far, conceded 10 in the 8 games so far.

Unfortunate that you've had both of your cup games as a home tie for you. I played in it a few years ago for Polska and when we had home games it cost us money. Good luck anyway.

Thought I may as well have done it in style!
Bert Posted 28 October 2013 Author Posted 28 October 2013 County Cup Sunday for us. We host Star Inn.

I played in it a few years ago for Polska and when we had home games it cost us money. Good luck anyway. Yeah I know mate, we don't mind playing at home though, confident we have a chance against anyone down at Barrow. This is our 3rd season in the competition and only had one day out and that was to Magnet Tavern in Lincolnshire, who had Julian Joachim playing for them! Cheers pal.
Ashley Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Fairfield tomorrow for us however next week excites me. Wigston Rangers v Humberstone Rangers. I come up against my Dads side!
Father Ted Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Won 10-3 vs Wigston United in the County Cup. Broke my thumb so I'm out for a couple of weeks but made a 25 minute cameo appearance up top today.
