Jordan Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 We all know of Fantasy Fooball leagues, where you pick your top 11 (Robin van Persie as captain, of course) and get points when players do good things like score goals and keep clean sheets. I've got an idea for a "fantasy" game for the Premier League where the object is to pick a team players that will do the most harm. Just pulling this off the top of my head, - Yellow card = 1 point - Red card = 3 points - Own goal = 5 points - Goalkeeper concedes more than four goals in a game = 1 point, with a bonus point for each goal conceded after the fourth - Games banned = 1 point per game - Fined by the FA = 1 point- Player found guilty of racial abuse = 7 points - Player gets arrested = 10 points There would have to be some sort of "salary cap" where some players (for example, Cattermole or Suarez) are worth more than others to make it harder to pick an entire 11 of blatant cnuts. Outside of this, I can't think of much more rules and details. If either of you have either any ideas or any interest, post away in this thread, and I'll try to organize things when I wake up tomorrow.
SystonFox Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 Good idea. Different Don't envy the task of valuing all the players though!
ScouseFox Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 There was one of these somewhere one season. I cannot for the life of me remember it's name though.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 There was one of these somewhere one season. I cannot for the life of me remember it's name though. Yep, there was. I couldn't remember the name either. So I typed 'Karl Henry' in the search bar and found this: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/68506-fantasy-fwit/?hl=%2Bkarl+%2Bhenry#entry1703801
goose2010 Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 couldnt you just use The Sun's ?? and who ever finishes bottom wins??
Aus Fox Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 McGregor (Hull) Popov (wba) Terry (Chelsea) Shawcross (Stoke) Pepe(if he signs for Manc city) Tiote (Newcastle) Nolan (west ham) Cattermole (Sunderland) Odenwinge (WBA) surly bonus points for going to another team and trying to force a transfer! Suarez (Liverpool) Bellamy (Cardiff)
Jordan Posted 15 August 2013 Author Posted 15 August 2013 Good idea. Different Don't envy the task of valuing all the players though! Yeah, after thinking about it with a clear mind this morning, I've decided I don't, either! We'll just keep things simple: you can name any player you want in your XI, so as long as you pick a standard formation: 5-4-1. 5-3-2. 4-5-1. 4-4-2. 4-3-3. 3-5-2. or 3-4-3. Don't worry about picking players to match every position (i.e. LB-CB-CB-RB if you go 4-4-2; just pick four defenders, four midfielders, and two forwards). To make things easier to manage, we'll name XIs to start the season, but allow one "transfer" each month. Yep, there was. I couldn't remember the name either. So I typed 'Karl Henry' in the search bar and found this: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/68506-fantasy-fwit/?hl=%2Bkarl+%2Bhenry#entry1703801 D'oh! If that were still up and running, it would have made things so much easier! I was thinking about calling this the "Karl Henry League" or "Richard Dunne League" before I started this thread, too! On the bright side, if I ever get really bored, I suppose I could try to make my own site... err, maybe not. couldnt you just use The Sun's ?? and who ever finishes bottom wins?? Now, that's not a bad idea, and it's something I did originally consider. However, that could also be exploited. One could, say, pick players that one knows are not going to play and score less points. Also, and perhaps more importantly, a player could do some bat-shit crazy things but score a whole bunch of goals (i.e., Suarez) and have an overwhelmingly net positive point total, which would defeat the purpose of this game. Odenwinge (WBA) surly bonus points for going to another team and trying to force a transfer! In addition to the point totals I listed above, we could also give bonus points to be determined by consensus if a player does something ridiculous such as Odemwingie's misadventures. If anyone has any suggestions to amend the point system, I'll consider them. We could perhaps also name managers, and get points for getting sent to the stands, being fined by the FA, getting touchline bans, and getting sacked. I'll try to think of my lineup during down times at work today and this evening and post mine soon. Aus Fox, thank you for getting the ball rolling. I'll volunteer to keep track of all the lineups, transfers, and scoring until we all get bored of this. We'll post everything here. I'd wish you all good luck, but I think it's bad luck we're after here!
