georgec Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Hi all, I'm writing a feature article for twentyfour7 football magazine on match days at Leicester City. With being away at uni for the past year I haven't been able to get to any home games over the last couple of seasons so just wondered if anyone could help me with the following; -Where is best to drink for home and away fans? -How much is a pie and a cup of tea? -How much is a matchday programme? Anything else worth mentioning about match days at the King Power would be helpful as well. Cheers

Need to know anthing else?
georgec Posted 12 September 2013 Author Posted 12 September 2013 Something a little more helpful would be appreciated...
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 The programme is 3 quid if that helps. Dunno about the rest.
Mack Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 So you have not been to a match for two years yet are writing an article about going to a match. Righty ho!
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 So you have not been to a match for two years yet are writing an article about going to a match. Righty ho! Unreal
georgec Posted 12 September 2013 Author Posted 12 September 2013 I was a season ticket holder for 11 years previous actually. So, on that basis I think I'm fairly well qualified to talk about a match day there... I was just wondering if anyone had any more input. Don't need unhelpful comments like yours.
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Most of the info you want, including pubs etc, is here http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leicester_city/

Fox92 Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Pie's are £3.20. Programmes £3. Not sure about tea as I don't have that.
AKCJ Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Some right bellends on here. He only wanted a bit of help.
davieG Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 The Half Time orange is now the Symphony Rooms, The Hotel has a 'new' bar called Kazkazini (sp) There's still a bar just for ST holders. Food hasn't really changed it's still expensive not bought any beer from inside the ground
AKCJ Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 I go to every home game. I couldn't tell you how much a pie or pint is or where the best pub is. I go to the football and come home. Give the lad a break, he's obviously not going to DMU, otherwise I think he might have gone himself. Just think about it.
Strokes Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Give the guy a break ffs, its not like he has been rude, arrogant or obviously dishonest. I can't help you much with current matchday experience as I don't get to many games these days but I'm sure someone will be helpful later. Good luck

Thanks for having my back and helping me regain faith in foxes fans intelligence!

Most Uni's don't start for another couple of weeks plus if he has already gone back he could have gone to any of our home games before now, it would put him in a much better position to accurately write an article that represents a home match experience and no doubt his article would be a lot better from having a first person account himself.
Karljohn Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Generally the food prices have gone up, the atmosphere is non existent largely due to the football, opponents of little quality and lower numbers of away fans. Fans fixtures still exist but take up for these games is down on previous years. There is little in the way of pre match entertainment. Hope that helps.
svensson Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Wow if ever there was a case for lazy journalism, whatever next....
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Town Centre is only 20 min walk. People should head there, pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, Richard III museum. Nearby is the counting house which accepts both sets of fans though bring a book or two to read while you wait to get served.
svensson Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Oh and just so I am being helpful 1: why not call the club to find out prices for items 2: why not use google, as folk already have websites dedicated to away days etc, much easier to rip off work from there. 3: i hope your CV is honest 4: I trust you will use references on your article 5: Plagarism isn't big or clever
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Some right bellends on here. He only wanted a bit of help. Bellend my arse Quote I'm writing a feature article for twentyfour7 football magazine on match days at Leicester City. Some feature that will be, in fact if he went through this site he would find a whole host of threads from a wide choice of fans to use. How much is a cup of tea !!!! Maybe the best thing is not to print it
