Mack Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 It makes you wonder sometimes the motives behind certain people getting involved in the administration of Football. Heather Rabbatts for example, Lawyer and former CEO of the London Borough of Lambeth. A lady that was once a Governor of the BBC and was on the Board of Directors of Millwall Fc. She became the first woman to be appointed a Director of the Football Association in late 2011, and her first head above the parapet moment in this role has been to attack her Boss Gregg Dyke for his new FA Commission formed to improve the England National team's performances. She stated that this new commission was all old White men, and this was not representative of the game to begin with, and that's fair comment I suppose although surely the body's members should be made up of the best men to do the job rather than their age or colour, and what's wrong with older white men anyway? Racist! Anyway today Dyke has trumped the ugly moose by getting Rio Ferdinand to accept his invitation to join the commission. A younger Black man who has played for England, but is Rabbatts satisfied? OH NO! Apparently the FA is still far to male dominated, well Mzzzz Rabbatts it's a Man's game you soppy bint! Honestly she drives me up the pole, and I'd imagine even if KD Lang was Chief Exec of the FA she would still be moaning about something or other, like a like of older white men!? (maybe not!) For me she is just another Peter Herbert type looking to enhance her own career and media profile by making such statements as she did this weekend.
Kitchandro Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Male dominated? Is she going to complain there aren't enough women in the mens teams in this day and age as well? It's a men's sport. Plus Ferdinand is a fvcking moron, what are we gaining from his inclusion? Diversity, is that it?
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Male and White? Well in that case you're a disgrace. These people won't be satisfied until Hope Powell is in charge and our team looks like a cross between a gay pride festival and a mela.
Mack Posted 21 October 2013 Author Posted 21 October 2013 However small there is a cock and balls down there... somewhere!
Guest Bilo Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 I'm sorry, but that guy is so far in the closet he's having tea with Aslan this evening.
ADK Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 I saw this earlier. I'm not sure why they think making it absolutely clear the only black man in the commission is there for his race and not his ability is in anyway helpful to the issue of equality.
Mark_w Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 OH NO! Apparently the FA is still far to male dominated, well Mzzzz Rabbatts it's a Man's game you soppy bint! It's a men's sport. Feel free to join us in the 21st century whenever you want.
Mack Posted 21 October 2013 Author Posted 21 October 2013 Feel free to join us in the 21st century whenever you want. I'll stick where I am thanks, in the real World not some PC bollocks plastic reality.
Corky Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Who cares what race, religion, gender, sexuality etc the members are as long as they provide good ideas and add something to the party, helping our fortunes improve? Pick people on what they say, not what they look or sound like.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 That committee has no credibility simply due to the fact Howard 'Dinosaur' Wilkinson is on it, anyway.
Ric Flair Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 That committee has no credibility simply due to the fact Howard 'Dinosaur' Wilkinson is on it, anyway. Although i'd tend to agree with you there, I was reading through the list of achievements Wilkinson has supposedly been involved in in recent years and it's quite impressive. By reading it, you'd think he was part of the innovative movement of football but we all know that's nonsense. When will another English manager win the top division title though? Can't believe how long it's been.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Bollocks to Rio Ferdinand and bollocks to women having an opinion on mens football.
Brainy Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 There aren't enough black female officials in the mens game either. And whats with the lack of black footballs? Any particular reason why the goalposts are white and not black? Still atleast most whistles are black.
Nick Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Who is being represented, by whom and for what reasons?
leicsmac Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Bollocks to Rio Ferdinand and bollocks to women having an opinion on mens football. Nuff blokes seem to have an opinion on womens football, I would say.
Kitchandro Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Feel free to join us in the 21st century whenever you want. You must mean the 22nd, because currently there aren't any female players any men's team as far as I'm aware.

Kitchandro Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 There aren't any men in the women's game either. But it's still football. So what's your point? There are far less women interested let alone involved in football so of course they're going to be in a minority. It's a game mainly played by men and the men's game (which is, let's face it, far more serious and important to the general public than women's football) is played by males. Women shouldn't automatically believe they should have a say in the men's game. I'm not against it, but why is it a surprise or a failure that there aren't women in the FA committee? Of course it's male dominated, it's the natural order of things.
ADK Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Surely they need someone to make tea during the meetings?
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Genuinely thought Huddersfield had brought two birds off the bench on Saturday.

Of course it's male dominated, it's the natural order of things. My point is that it's not a man's sport, there are a large number of female players, coaches and spectators involved in football and it's a growing number. Now maybe the point that was being made (by you at least) was simply that the people in the committee are going to have to be people who are experienced ex-players, managers and people who've had success in the male game before and if that was your point then, while I think you could have worded it better (a lot better), I don't necessarily disagree. Mack on the other hand I can't agree with... OH NO! Apparently the FA is still far to male dominated, well Mzzzz Rabbatts it's a Man's game you soppy bint! The FA are responsible for the women's game as well as the men's and as such to dismiss claims that the FA is too male dominated based on the fact that 'it's a man's game' are frankly sexist and offer no constructive argument in opposition to the points raised. Genuinely thought Huddersfield had brought two birds off the bench on Saturday. Holmes really does look like a 9 year old girl.
MooseBreath Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 Makes a complete mockery out of genuine successes in removing racism and sexism from the game. I find myself a bit disturbed by these blatantly contrived attempts at evening things up in such an artificial way. The speed at which the FA moved to address her 'concerns' was a complete embarrassment and if Ferdinand had any self respect he'd have immediately refused the role on the basis that he is obviously being brought in as a token gesture. Rabbatts should be ashamed of herself for being so self-centred and vacuous and for attempting to discredit the incredible amount of societal improvements football has been responsible for over the years purely for her own personal gain. She is a disgrace.

The FA maybe too male dominated but that's beside the point / irrelevant as this is a Commission set up to improve the chances of the Men's team winning major international tournaments.
steveherbe Posted 21 October 2013 Posted 21 October 2013 The lack of males in the WI is a bloody disgrace......
