Strokes Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 There is a wonderful irony about fighting, rioting and trampling over people to get goods on a day designed to follow on from a celebration of giving thanks to what you already have.Irony, what is that?
Guest Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Black Friday on Amazon has been brilliant. Ultimate edition of FIFA 14 for £29.99. Was going to get it anyway and would have ended up paying £34.99 for the standard edition. £5 saved??? Hold the phone people, we have a winner!
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 November 2013 Author Posted 29 November 2013 £5 saved??? Hold the phone people, we have a winner! He actually said he got the ultimate edition for 5 quid cheaper then the standard edition. Much bigger saving than a fiver. Probably 15 quid atleast which on a game is a cracking deal.
MooseBreath Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I'd rather pay twice the asking price than suffer that kind of indignity. Those people are an embarrassment.
ADK Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 You just know they are all benefit scroungers and none of that money is theirs anyway.
Finnaldo Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I might get up next year to go and watch. I can image an angry horde of scroungers close to murdering each other for a 10% off telly, and you rolling up with your fold up chair, picnic and binoculars setting up in the corner for the day.
Vlad the Fox Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Disgraceful, they should be ashamed. Last time I saw scenes like that involved the starving of the third world fighting for a bag of grain to feed their family.
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 November 2013 Author Posted 29 November 2013 Looks like recent scenes on the news from the Phillipines after the Typhoon. People scrambling and fighting for aid. Don't like seeing people fighting over cheap TVs. I guarantee this will catch on huge scale next year. Asda has paved the way now. Not only have they made a fortune, they've had a shit load of free advertising (all be it for the wrong reasons). Just encourages a culture where no respect and manners for each other is fine. Doesn't rest easy with me.
Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 I can image an angry horde of scroungers close to murdering each other for a 10% off telly, and you rolling up with your fold up chair, picnic and binoculars setting up in the corner for the day. I would but I'm pretty sure I'd end up being mugged for my fold up and chair and picnic basket! lol I have no idea what to say! Disgraceful, they should be ashamed. Last time I saw scenes like that involved the starving of the third world fighting for a bag of grain to feed their family. They are an absolute disgrace.
Dan Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 I've completely lost touch with the human species.
RobHawk Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 This epitomises everything that's wrong with this country. More American culture for the morons to lap up. I love a bargain, I really do. The majority of the Xmas presents I have we're either on offer or I managed to get a code to reduce the price too. But I do it all from my computer and get better deals for it too. There were very few deals that were actually that good yesterday. These people are morons, they really are.
Strokes Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Hooray for capitalism! Its clearly the welfare class
Jimothy Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Its clearly the welfare class Class is one word you can't use when referring to these people.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Like Joachim said above the Polariod is probably only worth £99 anyway and the 42" TV isn't even any good. If it was a 42" SMART LED TV or something you could understand but they're probably just getting rid of old stock they couldn't flog at full price anyway. Sums up ASDA anyway. I'm sure we've all been to Fosse Park ASDA and seen for ourselves the vermin that frequent there. It's no surprise that it happens around the country. There are theoretical ways to control doing sales like this. Put up an awning in the car park or close off an aisle completely to the public. People queue outside. Security on the door. Only five people allowed in/down the aisle at a time. PROPER stock levels announced to the crowd so the plebs who have turned up late can piss off home. The supermarket created this situation themselves with enabling it to be a free for all. If you were a cynic you might say they got exactly what they intended, to whip up the excitement for next year. It's shameful stuff but the worst thing is that not one animal who was in the crowd, who pushed and trampled over people to get their precious TV will think they did anything wrong.
The God Emperor Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 I dont see why its such a big deal. mouthbreathers hurting other mouthbreathers over things they dont need. hopefully when the injured ones are sat there with a broken arm and no 5% off TV, they will have an epiphany and try to stop being a complete moron.
Socks Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Check out what these idiots did... In america! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_adgG8Ba2Q
MooseBreath Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Hooray for capitalism! Indeed, under what other system have people become so accustomed to luxurious consumption that they consider it a right to be defended with violence? While other systems are still provoking life and death violence over bare essentials, here we are so steeped in success that we having nothing left to fight over but HD televisions. Distasteful scenes but I know which system I prefer. Plus some of that money the knuckledraggers spent will be mine through dividends, purely because I'm free to buy a piece of that company, so hooray for capitalism indeed, everyone's a winner.
