Larry_LCFC Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 So its been deemed "Black Friday" tomorrow by several large retailers tomorrow across the UK. Bizzare really when you consider its an American tradition that comes the day after thanks giving. Their equivalent of our Boxing day sale. Seems like there could be some good deals to be had. Amazon, Apple, John Lewis and Debenhams have all stated they will be taking part this year. I know Apple in particular do some ridiculously cheap deals if you can hold of them. Think the strangest one for me this year has to be ASDA. Yes that's right, Walmart have sent it across the pond and ASDA are joining in. Seen some of the "top secret" stuff they have on offer tomorrow. Includes a LG 32" HD Plasma which I've heard will go for about £100. Being set up through the night behind black screens and will be revealed tomorrow morning at 8am across the UK. Definitely tempted to go down and have a look what I can grab. Slightly concerns me that people are regularly crushed to death in these sales in America. Anybody else got any plans to partake in some bargain hunting tomorrow?
Guest MattP Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Anybody who has celebrated thanksgiving properly in the states will be farotoo hungover to make the opening on black Friday.
whoareyaaa Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I'll be buying a Black PS4 on Friday that's about it.
Larry_LCFC Posted 28 November 2013 Author Posted 28 November 2013 just found the advert on youtube. Cringe much. Really dont understand the relevance to the UK?

True but I do remember peeling myself out of bed and managing to purchase some Brooks Brothers (Milano) seersucker trousers for a snip of a price. Ivy league baby!!!

The Horse's Mouth Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Thought thanksgiving was a religious thing? YOU'RE OUT OF TOUCH
Guest MattP Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Thought thanksgiving was a religious thing? I still can't work out if you're a hermit or a genius.
Lamby Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I still can't work out if you're a hermit or a genius. I always imagine him as Gandalf
Guest MattP Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I always imagine him as Gandalf He imagines me as Adolf.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I imagine him as the drunk in his sig.
21st Century Fox Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I think of him as being a bit like Chauncey Gardiner from Being There.
Rincewind Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I always imagine him as Gandalf Not quite. I have a staff like his though.
purpleronnie Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Not quite. I have a staff like his though. ooh er missus.
Hollism Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I don't really see the need for it myself, but something I understand even less is the dozens of people (on Facebook) complaining about it til they're blue in the face! "It's an American tradition, stop trying to force it on the UK", "Fvcking Walmart", etc There's basically some decent electrical stuff at better than half price on the last payday before Christmas, and people are moaning about it. No wonder Thanksgiving isn't acknowledged in the UK.
Orkneyfox Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Thought thanksgiving was a religious thing? Wot! Like Christmas!?
