Rincewind Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Working is so 20th Century. We really should be letting robots do all the work by now. They do yhat is why people are laid off meaning less work available in their field of expertise.
Jimothy Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 The guy has accused me of having a chip on my shoulder because I work and believe everyone should work. I believe that says more about him than it does about me. I think he said you had a chip on your shoulder based on your attitude towards pretty much everyone on the forum for the vast majority of your post for the last few months.
ousefox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Mum was a facilities manager at York Uni for 25 years and now works part time in audiology department at the hospital - she's needed hearing aids since she was born. Dad is a professor and teaches a few different subjects. This has influenced me not to be an academic! Although the pay is good, with the knowledge he has and work he puts in, I would definitely choose to go into something he teaches like marketing, rather than teach it myself.
The People's Hero Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I think he said you had a chip on your shoulder based on your attitude towards pretty much everyone on the forum for the vast majority of your post for the last few months. He should probably employ you to make his incoherent postings marginally clearer to the benefit of almost nobody. I'm not going to apologise if my views on the virtue of work and the value of entrepreneurs etc offends you. If I found agreement from too many on here, I'd be very concerned and have to reassess.
Captain... Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 And I assume your mother drank heavily during pregnancy. And I must assume that your parents worked so hard during your upbringing that they didn't give you enough love and attention If you really want to know why I made a joke about you having a chip on your shoulder, it is because you de-railed a fairly pleasant thread to push your usual agenda. Which everyone knows and most people agree with you, yes everyone should work, but most people understand that it is not always as simple as that, and whilst a minority of people on benefits are screwing the system, to tarnish all unemployed as lazy scrounging layabouts is pathetic and completely ignoring the actual problems in Britain at the moment. Now if you're going to be such a soft lad and take offence at a bit of joking then I suggest you don't post deliberately inflammatory posts looking for a reaction, cause you look a bit daft getting upset when you get a reaction.

Rincewind Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Once again zingari has hit the nail on the head. When one is looking down from an ivory tower the rest of the world can appear insignificant and easily ignored.
Mike Oxlong Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 i've just been on the phone and passed on your wisdom to one of my friends TPH and he told me to fook off . He obviously isn't trying hard enough Why didn't you just cut out the middle man in what you were really saying ?
Beliall Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 my mum works for granny fanny and my dads a pimp
The People's Hero Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I don't see how I derailed an argument about parents working by mentioning that my parents work, but if it fits your pathetic agenda, who am I to argue?
MooseBreath Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Once again zingari has hit the nail on the head. When one is looking down from an ivory tower the rest of the world can appear insignificant and easily ignored. "gimme more free moneeeeeey... I wants more of your moneeeys"
Captain... Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I don't see how I derailed an argument about parents working by mentioning that my parents work, but if it fits your pathetic agenda, who am I to argue? Well you didn't derail an argument, as we were actually having an argument free thread, then your post created an argument because you really had to get that off your chest. Maybe I'm mistaken, maybe you genuinely mis-read the title of the thread and all the other posts, and thought it was a thread asking whether or not you and your parents work. But I suspect you posted what you did to get a little reaction, because you didn't answer the thread or respond to anyone in the thread, you just did a little bit of trolling, then got all precious over a joke. Up to you I guess.
