Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Rest in Peace big guy, you made a lot of schooltime very enjoyable for millions. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/final-panini-brother-died-creation-remains-immortal-151613040.html
Stadt Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Got,got, need. Almost everybody can relate to that. Well played Umberto.
pSinatra Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 That's odd. I popped round the folks last night & my Dad gave me my complete & near perfect Espana '82 out of the attic. I've got a few complete albums & they're great looking back at. How else would I know that Ray Clemence was born in Skeggy!!
Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Do these really go for anything like these prices now? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panini-Mexico-70-Complete-Album-/321264966217?pt=UK_SportsMemorabilia_Football_Memorabilia_ET&hash=item4acce25a49

There's Espana 82 albums in the same condition as mine going for £120-£150. I'm tempted.
kingfox Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Thanks for making stickers, that I couldn't read because it was all foreign. But I didn't care because I was addicted to sticker books.
Dan Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Bet my Dad's got one as well. Fvcking hell. I used to love all that. Proper got me into the World Cup mood. Toyed with the idea again but think I'm a bit too old for that

I can remember being laughed at by older ones than me when I was going mad over getting Ronaldinho in a pack I might even do it. Fvck it. Who cares. If it gets me into the World Cup mood, all the better.

Dan Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 The feeling you got when opening a pack and just seeing a hint of a shiny was one of the fondest of any football fans youth. Aye. The reality is though, I'll open a pack and see Kyle Walker.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I remember these. I had one of them in the late 80s. Its amazing really because you could be in the playground going through literally hundreds of someone elses "swaps" and youd know what you had and what you didnt. Literally hundreds of players! I could never memorize stuff like that again like I could then.
MC Prussian Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Loved it, was properly addicted to trading stickers between 1990 and 1996, then lost interest quite quickly. Yes, Panini stickers were a part of my childhood, too. Fond memories. I think World Cup cards or the national football association crests counted double, sometimes triple. Nowadays, with the prices for packs and unnecessary, additional cards, it's become quite a rip-off.
Kitchandro Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 I was never really a committed sticker collector but I did have a few of the books in the late 90s. I've still got them in my room somewhere now. It's a shame they're less than a 10th completed.
rico Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Panini books introduced me to lots of weird and wonderful teams and players
MC Prussian Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Panini books introduced me to lots of weird and wonderful teams and players That's true. Thanks to my stepdad and his former Panini collection, I can think of Haiti and Zaire.
Soar Fox Posted 6 December 2013 Posted 6 December 2013 I can't remember the panini sticker books maybe I was to young or not even born. But I do remember growing up and collecting the Premiership one that Merlin did. Half a weeks pocket money 50p would go on buying 2 packs every Saturday. Before even walking out the shop both packs would have been opened, got need need.
