Guest Bilo Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Hain looked a bit bemused half the time, I think he was expecting more applause, most of what he said would have gone down a treat with a young, white BBC audience, the Africans seemed to brush it off as someone talking about something he knows little about. Don't think you can compare the treatement of Red Beret man to Griffin, both are probably violent militants if they ever got power but one was given a fair platform and one was the victim of a co-ordinated witchhunt in which for one night only they changed the whole format of the show just to take it in turns to take a pop at someone who was upsetting the establishment. I've often said Portillo would have been a fantastic leader, his homosexuality wouldn't have been a problem either would it? Well, it wasn't for William Hague. Considering Michael Gove has been touted as a future leader, Portillo's homosexuality definitely wouldn't be a problem. I'd be happy to accept a potential PM with a penchant for buggering farm animals over Michael Gove.

Finnegan Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Sorry but if ever someone's murder wasn't a shame it was Eugene Terreblanche. In any context.

I remember hearing about his murder and being amazed it didn't happen sooner to be honest. The bloke was a complete waste of semen and ovary space.
DennisNedry Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Thankful Mandela died when he did, otherwise the massive over-coverage would have ****ed up Christmas. Let's hope everybody's forgot about it by next week.

Mandelathon thankfully over now on the BBC (though I've enjoyed the comedy of it), let's hope his death sees a change for South Africa in finally removing the government he created next spring and it returning to rich civilised place where black and white can put food on the table for their families. Oh and hopefully his good mate Robert Mugabe will join him soon.

Would the black families be putting food on the table before or after having a good kicking in arbitrary detention/not being able to travel freely? Don't agree with the total martyrdom Mandela has received postmortem but the regime he replaced when he became President were one of the most odious in history, for all their economic stability.

What's wrong with sitting on the floor and eating, also i'm sure Argos have plenty of flat pack tables at a reasonable price for all to buy?

Well more of them were, have a look at the poverty rates in South Africa now compared to back then.No one is saying apartheid was right, but the people should have chose some other option than turning it over to a bunch of corrupt communists who have absolutely destroyed the place. Do you really think the blacks aren't still taking a kicking now? The police force is probably more evil now than it was back then, they massacred loads of workers on the north a couple of years back for going on strike, that seems to be ok though as it was carried out by black policeman and not racists.

The ANC have failed post Mandela, and Zuma has been a car crash for the country. The DA representative impressed me at Question Time, I could see them being good for the country. Whether the South African electorate will vote for a white woman as President though remains to be seen.

Sorry, but give me a country where I'm afraid of not having enough money to feed my family over one where I'm afraid of those in power arbitrarily locking me up indefinitely any day of the week. At least the first one you actually have some control over - provided those in power didn't place restrictions on how you could work or travel to work. If blacks are still taking a kicking now, it's because the policemen are just cvnts, rather than actually believing and being mandated as superior by the government of the day. Of course you could say that that difference doesn't mean squat to the poor sod that's getting the kicking, and perhaps I'm being irrational here as it doesn't really matter why people are oppressed if the end result is the same - but there's something about people believing in racial supremacy that just makes my blood boil a little more than other reasons. But that's me Do agree that with you and Bilo in that the ANC have screwed up post-Mandela and Zuma has been a real disaster for the country, mind you - hopefully he'll be out on his ear come election time.
