L1 will never be what people want it to be because of the price of tickets in J.

Sk1 is the logical area, but getting 1000 people to move out of L1 just isn't going to happen because people think that to create an atmosphere you need to be next to the away fans, which is bollocks.

There are not enough people willing to stand up and be the ones to start something, people want to join these things when they are good not when they are just starting.

I personally think we have some of the best fans in the country, if we could get EVERY SINGLE fans who wants to stand up in 1 section of the ground together we would have the best home atmosphere in the country.

I really do wonder if Filbo Spirit (should anything take off) is the answer. I'll be more than willing to get involved because I'm sick of turning up to every home game (and even some away) and having about 20 people tops singing.

 

The problem is, we can't agree on a section for whatever reason.

SK1 would be ideal and slowly get bigger and more people standing along the KOP. But people will just not move away from L or K.

I'm moving seats for next season anyway so will welcome any suggestions. If other people are up for getting tickets at the back of SK1 and want to sing let's do it!

Of course if I had a choice to sit with a large singing section next to the away fans or in the Kop yes I’d choose near the away fans but this isn’t feasible at all in our ground for the reasons mentioned above. So I guess until people drop the “I’m not moving because I want banter with away fans†mentality nothing will change.

 

I think if we had an away style following in the corner next to SK1 for one game people would never go back. The kop would also join that’s a fact. It would spread in a similar way the Palace Ultras started small but now get the whole stand rocking. It’s just getting a big group to try it for one game! I don’t know whether it would be worth picking a good home game try this out and perhaps have a go at distributing some flyers at a few away games making people aware of the idea? I know that sounds stupid but what do you do???

Agree again. It happened to an extent at home to Burton last year.

 

Get a game like Middlesbrough or Charlton at home and do it I reckon. Just a case of where, again.

To be fair I was in the corner last night and some original chants and new chants got aired for the first time. I actually enjoyed my self more than on my usual seat...

That Celtic chant was sung and so was the Danny Drinkwater chant. We even had guy waving a flag

I'm on the back row of SK1 a bit further round from the old fosse boys corner, and there are normally plenty of seats around us, Using the existing corner and the section we are in, it would seem logical, if someone like the sprit of filbo or what remains of the guys from fosse boys all wanted to get in one area, we stand all game every game and the stewards have just given up on asking us to sit.

Whilst in reality I would like to move to L1, well up until recently when that has gone as shit as the rest of the ground. there are a few barriers, 1 being able to get a ticket, 2 the cost and 3 I actually like to watch the game from behind the goal, it's how i grew up watching the game.

It seems, there is a willingness on here, sprit of filbo etc, to do something, so why can't there be some sort of joint venture, for example for the rest of the season, can the casual supporters look to buy tickets in this area, maybe for next season, people buying season tickets, could move towards the back of sk1.

It feels there are plenty who want to do something, or maybe we are just the minority, are we?

The stewards have been generally decent in my opinion. They asked once but never since although I wouldn't be surprised to see Barclay try and step it up, after all a football ground isn't meant to be a place of enjoyment and freedom.

 

I think it is the minority Bayfox but I'm more than willing to step up the efforts to get more people in there. The majority of the seats are empty around there and whilst we do have the odd quiet moment, I'd say our block's probably the most persistent in the ground (whilst not trying to blow my own trumpet, but it's my honest thoughts). Our problem is similar to the FB - lack of numbers and it's actually gone down since the start of the season as a couple don't go anymore for whatever reason.

 

Something's seriously got to be done about it though. The annoying thing is I know we have potential to have a very vocal fanbase but we just seem to never ever reach it nowadays.

I'm not even 100% sure. Mine's in a random seat at the back of SK1 but we just group together where we do.

It was no coincidence that at Filbo the loudest section was next to the away fans and the same goes for many grounds around the country. I used to be in the kop at Filbo, started in the kop at the KP but then moved to L.

 

The only way we will ever get a singing section back that could rival Filbert St would be if the club swapped the family end and kop end and as we all know that is never going to happen.

It's up to us. N Block standers are already proving quite a resilient, tight knit bunch. If a mass of people joined them there's nothing the club could do to stop it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought unless you have a kid with you, you cant get a ticket in the family end. So that rules out a lot of people from L

British fans seem to need the away fans to create an atmosphere, a problem that they don't have in any other country in the world.

I don't agree with SK1 to 'become' a place of new singing section, we've got already L1/K1.

We should consolidate and strenghen our existing active support, not split it more and more.

Not everybody is gonna get over to L & K.What's wrong with another area that sings.Theres probably a few more thousand in the ground that wanna sing.Lately sk1 is singing more varied songs than L so I hope it grows.

I agree...it will be very difficult for L to increase in size due to its location. Its a crap situation but one i don't think will be solved by having a singing section in the Kop - rightly or wrongly you need proximity to the away fans. Its the family stand or bust as I see it

 

If I'm wrong why when we first moved to the KP was the Kop not absolutely buzzing? Everyone from SK1 at Filbert Street like me moved there as that was the area of the ground we were told to go to....didnt end too well did it?

I think here in lies a lot of the problem again and I'm as guilty as anyone - we can't agree where to go. All three (L, N and SK) have a decent argument for and against. L/K is probably the best bet but it's the most expensive and I'm not convinced it can grow any more.
