stockyfox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I refer of course, to Forest v QPR! So I thought the best result from a Foxes fan’s point of view would be a draw – or was it? Perhaps 2 -0 was as good as anything. After all, QPR’s ‘goal difference’ is now less than ours. The team on the tv tonight were a sham compared with the team we beat last week –they actually made Forest look good! And Jack Hobbs played a superb game at Centre-half. I’m sorry we let him go. He’s as honest a player as the day is long. He gives 100% for all 90+ minutes. So we are clear top by 2 points! Where the hell have Derby County come from? If the results had worked out for them, they could have gone top – unthinkable! Listening to RL after our Reading match, there was a contrast of views re Knocky. For me, he is a revelation. He gives us a different dimension and other teams a headache. Yes I know he can do things that make you want to cry but he is capable of doing other party tricks that put a real smile on your face. I would like to hear the commentary on today’s game once more if only to count the number of times I heard the word ‘Vardy’. Could have been - must have been well over 100. I think the Club should dedicate today’s victory to the fans. Foxes fans are like no other fans in the world. Which other Clubs fans would give such a rapturous one minute applause (and during a game at that) as a tribute and thank you to the Clubs owners for wiping out the Club’s debt? Which other Clubs fans would get their mobile phones out to help light the stadium when the floodlights failed? One thing that irritates though is those fans who are full of foreboding, predicting a mass exodus etc etc. As far as I am concerned, if a player wants to leave Leicester City FC, let him go. I don’t want to support a player who is not totally committed to the Club. I’ve said before – Owners, managers, staff and players come and go but the fans go on forever! And so onwards and upwards! It’s been a good day – and night! Today! Thursday? Feels more like Saturday! Remember: The future’s bright, the Future’s blue and white. Happy New Year folks!
Haydos Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I don't give that much of a shit about forest, I like seeing them lose where possible but if we need them to beat QPR to help with our promotion challenge then i'll get behind them.
jonthefox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Stuff forest. Its all about us. I wouldn't say i cheered forests win , but it certainly cheered me up.
Langley Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I was hoping for a draw but these three points could be vital for us.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I semi cheered the Forest goals because its QPR who are more likely to be challenging for top two and Forest are what, 9 points behind. I actually went round to a mates to watch it who are both Forest fans joking that I could sit through a match for once and we would all be cheering on the same side! Its just football and banter at the end of the day, not the be all and end all if some other side wins or loses
Haydos Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 I was hoping for a draw but these three points could be vital for us. Why? Do you really care about this half arsed rivalry more than our closest promotion rivals losing out on points?
Kitchandro Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 It was win win win for us tonight. Forest lose, I'm happy. QPR lose, we stay top. Draw - neither are happy and we stay top. QPR looked shite tonight, but not as shite as Greg Halford. Didn't realise Forest were 5th now though; that's a shame. I'm disappointed in Leicester fans tbh. Fans that make no noise for the team for the whole match suddenly find a voice for Sam Bailey and the flipping owners. Priorities are all wrong.

Talk about it, I got shouted out of a Leicester Facebook group the other day for asking why they were still going on about Sam Bailey.
Kitchandro Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Why? Do you really care about this half arsed rivalry more than our closest promotion rivals losing out on points? You're using all the wrong terminology there. It's not about caring about a rivalry (that's for them and the sheep) it's about wanting your local rivals to lose. That is natural football psychology. You've also got to bare in mind just how long we've got to go. QPR dropping points tonight could be irrelevant by the end of it. They could be back above us in 2 games and could finish 10 clear of us. We could be 3rd again by Sunday night. At the end of the day, tonight's result didn't actually matter. It's just nice to see us top of the league. The league season will be determined more by what we do than what others do.

But you'd have to admit it's much more likely that it'll be QPR we're competing with at the end of the season not Forest. Was I being silly when I wanted Burnley to lose against Middlesbrough? After all, it might be us and Boro vying for the last PO spot at the end of the season. It's just a case considering the most likely outcome. Chances are QPR dropping points is a positive thing for us.

But logically QPR are one of our main rivals for the automatic promotion spots and in my opinion are going to challenge us whereas Forest aren't. Therefore, anyone who is not going to be challenging for those spots that takes points of teams that are, I will obviously be happy with. This includes Forest. How can you say this result is meaningless, any points QPR drop (I know we're not at the end of the season yet bus a lot of people think they are among the contenders the point stands) is a good thing.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Why would I want Forest to lose? a win for them benefits us greatly. Couldn't give a toss how well they're doing throughout the season aslong as their results effect us well in the table.
dayday Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Who is to say Forest won't be challenging come May,they are a bit like us create numerous chances, yet struggle to score....there is no secret they are going to sign a striker in January,Qpr on the other hand have struggled to score all season and i am not sure they are in a position to strengthen with FFP lurking around the corner. Derby and Burnley have proved that you under estimate know one in this league, and as other results go its not a worry to me its about what Leicester do,if we dont go up then we only have ourselves to blame.
Leicester_Numan Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Hoping for a draw because we hate Forest is a bit stupid really, a Forest win last night was the best possible result for us, just a shame it wasn't by more.
absolutelegend Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Glad qpr won. dont give a stuff what forest do...its all about us finishing in the top two. nothing else matters :-)
LCCFox96 Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 All other results are irrelevant unless you pick up your points. We have taken 7 (a very decent haul) in 3 tough games in the last 3. We were always going to be near the top (or top) if that happened. If offered 7/9 before Burnley you would be a fool not to take it. Anything else like forest taking points of QPR is bonus for us
