Elland Road experience

My first experience of going to Leeds was in 2001 and the away fans were placed in the affectionately known "cheese wedge" in the corner with Fascist stewards reminiscent of a labour camp. I did fear the worst this time with all the scare-mongering on here, but i can say apart from the fierce looking security that greets you, the stewards were excellent and did not ask anyone to sit or to not gesture. It was certainly a relief as I expected the worst given the fact that I was nearly ejected on my last visit for standing on the back row. Glad to see things have moved on!

Totally different today, last time I went constantly hassled by stewards , found myself at the end of a row so expected a proper ding dong today but not a peep. Still way too expensive but worth every penny, one of the longest goal celebrations I've had

How were our fans today, someone on waccoe said we were embarrassing

We certainly sounded quiet and the pricing got the turnout it deserved.

Call me optimistic, but I can genuinely see us selling out every Saturday allocation between now and the end of the season.

Not many singing today for most of the match, granted wasn't a stellar performance but the stupid Leeds pricing fvcked up what should be a great day out, those low roof acoustics are crying out for a good sing song

Not too sit?! Not too gesture?? They told me to sit repeatedly and said that i would be chucked out if i did not. Held my ground an they eventually ****ed off.. Then later on some cocky 14 year old in there end was giving it large, and fairly i gave him the same. I was then told after about 5 minutes that the cameras are watching me and if i carry on im out.. Well i didnt give a toss cus when we scored i behaved like the biggest nob going.. So to your point of a good experience at elland road discarding the footy it is the worst ground ive been to... Rant over

wasnt expecting it to be that good to be fair. history of crap stewarding, expensive tickets and it was on the box. some of us gave it a rest today and i dont blame us.

Just watched the highlights, and when Nuge did that sublime flick in and Sky pan to us I could see the bit I was in and yes, we were going totally fvcking mental just as I remember it  :yahoo:

Stewards were fine today. Let everyone stand just asked in a polite manner for people not to stand on the stairs.

Surprisingly there were no problems, no ejections.

Why do their moronic fans keep chanting " champions of Europe" apart from the only other song that they know " marching on together"

At home they're not great (in spite of the thousands standing) like most places in England, but away they're the best fans in the country for me. Far more varied songbook than you're suggesting too. Plus, everyone to a man belts out whatever's being sung in their end. Would kill to have the same level of support.

Flew over from Ireland for todays game, don't be at many away games understandably don't be at many games full stop but have to say I was dreading it a bit from what I was hearing about stewards etc. It's like they say about a referee "if you don't notice the ref he's had a good game" I didn't see a single steward say a word to nobody all game, was at the last row at the top WORST VIEW EVER!! lol, just for the record I did notice the ref today.lol

Bold statement, Man United are genuinely outstanding in every department on the road. Such a contrast to the tourists and prawn sandwich munchers from the Home Counties at Old Trafford.

That being said, Leeds have the best away support outside the Premier League by a street. Genuinely think only Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are better.

I don't think Chelsea are better. I think Newcastle are as good.

Man Utd are the best in England for me. They are terrific and that's regardless of their success.

Pound for pound they're the best for me given they're not supporting a team which wins stuff any more. that said, no doubt Man United would have similar support if they got relegated. Sheffield Wednesday are well up there too. Unreal fans given the shite they've had to watch since the late 90s.

I haven't seen a lot of them in fairness, but I do distinctly remember them being disappointing vocally when they came to us in 09-10.

I was going to say that, Chelsea bring big numbers as expected but vocally Newcastle are much better.
