Rincewind Posted 23 January 2014 Author Posted 23 January 2014 So an abused teenager or a woman who is a victim of domestic violence is classed as a drug user? I think some have missed the point. Read about what the alternatives are. Even at free rent it is cheaper than criminalisation homelessness and using public taxes to enforce laws when the homeless can be housed was having a home address is a requirement on most job applications. Being in a home and able to return to work reduces unemployment. It seems that this is not wanted as the homeless do not count on the jobless stats. Sleeping in a doorway is not counted as homeless. Those on JSA or work programmes are not now on the unemployed figures. A little bit of adjusting with stats does wonders for governments popularity if spinned in the right way.
Rincewind Posted 23 January 2014 Author Posted 23 January 2014 Yeah, great idea because squatters/ homeless really know how to look after buildings. You see these documentarys and there are needles, shit and all sorts on the floor. They seem to like writing on the walls.i really don't believe they could look after it properly.so for that reason,I'm out. Utah is a right wing state and the scheme has reduced homelessness so why oppose it?

Rincewind Posted 23 January 2014 Author Posted 23 January 2014 Where would we piss though? You will have to wait until matt is arrested for drunken behavior at a cricket club in an exclusive bar and sentenced to 6 months in prison and on release finding no job and a ne w man has moved into his house and his bed.

Rincewind Posted 23 January 2014 Author Posted 23 January 2014 Which is better for homeless people to put on job applications A) No fixed abode B) an address
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Which is better for homeless people to put on job applications A) No fixed abode B) an address I think the lack of personal hygiene is more of a concern for them.

Guest MattP Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Which is better for homeless people to put on job applications A) No fixed abode B) an address I'd imagine putting B) would raise some trust and honesty issues.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 Yeah, great idea because squatters/ homeless really know how to look after buildings. You see these documentarys and there are needles, shit and all sorts on the floor. They seem to like writing on the walls.i really don't believe they could look after it properly.so for that reason,I'm out. Spot on. Watched a documentary the other day with about 20-30 squatters in a massive building and there was graffiti all over the place, the wiring and electrics had been fiddled with and they were growing weed. Not to mention the whole place was a dump. Also saw a couple of programs where this has been the norm too. They don't give a shit as they know they'll get evicted and they'll move on to somewhere else which they'll no doubt ruin.
MooseBreath Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 I heard 80% of the homeless want to be homeless because they find playing the victim easier than living with the cold reality of personal responsibility
cityfanlee23 Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 It's a frustrating story really, that probably 85-90% of the homeless are there because of their own stupidity and laziness, I would say most have drink or drugs problems, and most have absolutely no drive to make themselves better people... If I found myself on the streets, I'd do absolutely ANYTHING, to get a job, It is widely expressed throughout the world what things like drink and drugs, or general laziness can lead to in life... Yet people still ignore it and end up on the streets crying poverty... Newmarket my hometown is a prime example of 2 tales, You have the richer side of town, who have respectable lives, work hard and build themselves up in life. then the other side, the majority of stable hands who go drinking at 12am then go back to work for evening stables, and spend every single weekend pissed up in town, or even turning up to work pissed, about to ride a horse worth upwards of £300,000 in some cases... Then these people wonder why their lives are full of shit, and problems.... It is an extreme example, but not so much the individuals, I am concerned for the general attitude of these people.... Without the minority that have genuinely been dealt a tough hand in life, the majority of people on the streets I would say have only themselves to blame. yet everyone else is expected to pick them up. Local bum In Newmarket sits on the high-street begging every weekend, told me he has absolutely no intention of getting a job, because he cannot be bothered... and he earns more on his job seeker allowance... AND WHY DO THEY ALL GET DOGS!! should be illegal.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 Don't want to come across as a hobophobe or anything but getting sick to the f***ing teeth hearing about homeless all the pissing time
