Fox_in_a_Box Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Nothing new. We all know what it means financially to be in the prem.
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Oh yeah, financially it secures the club. Think about not even staying up either, how much the club would get in parachute payments. And that highlights how much money is involved these days, I mean Lambert summed it up when he said about staying up ahead of winning the FA Cup. Ridiculous at times.
Dan Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 The amount of money in the top flight really is ridiculous but you can always rely on clubs in this country to somehow make a pigs ear of it - and this season I've been convinced that we have the right people at the club to know what to do with it, but we'll have to see.
Strokes Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 So long as we don't spunk it up the wall like QPR, Cardiff etc, financially it could really project us up to a new financial level. The danger is that they give out hufe contracts, saddling us with overpaid players for the championship if we came straight down.

If a player is out of his price range he wont pay it, simple as that. We saw that with Billy Sharp, he wanted more cash so Nigel moved on.

We saw that with Billy Sharp, he wanted more cash so Nigel moved on. Exactly. There's not a man (or team with shakey and Walsh) that' id want rather than Pearson to take us up and spend what money we might have. Can't wait to see who thy bring in and don't think it'll be too many either.
cc_star Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 The sheer amount of money is mind blowing & causes a huge imbalance One key signing is needed, Pearson. The rest will fall into place. Net spending of around £500k over last three windows and probably of just over £2m in his entire time here shows he can manage resources not just performances & results.
ronnup Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 The most exciting thing about promotion is that our owners are level headed at not in it to make a quick buck and Pearson is absolutely not the type of manager to get all champ manager and spunk 10 million on someone ridiculous
lancyclaret Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 It's amazing how quickly the PL money can disappear. When we go promoted 5 years ago, the chairman said: "This will set Burnley up for the next 10 years." Less than 3 years later, that same chairman said the club was "sklnt" and wage cuts would have to be enforced.
