Foxhateram Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Seems that Leicester's success this year has very much been based on pace and quick movement both in the players and the quick passing and move of the ball. What is pearson feeding these players? Even GTH burst into the box at pace several times yesterday, as did drinky and James. Absolute madness! Up the leicester, sorry probably didn't need new thread now thinking about it, but a worthwhile discussion piece is, will this type of pace and football work in the promised land?
weller54 Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 All the great Leicester teams had pace.. None so better than the John Farrington /Len Glover days... Mahrez /Vardy /Dyer are up there too!!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Pace frightens defenders in any league!
cuddly ken Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Pace frightens defenders in any league! Whatever happened to Pace and his mate Hale?
Raw Dykes Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Dyer, de Laet, Schlupp, Mahrez and Vardy all in the same team. Frightening.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 pace, and also the technique to slow play down and be patient with our passing why needed. hence, why we've beaten every type of team in this league whether it be via quick passing, probing through the middle, wing play, goals on the break - WE ARE INVINCIBLE
TJB-fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 I could never understand why players under the Levein, Kelly etc regime never ran at their markers. We are a joy to watch

CPW22 Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Pace and arguably our work rate. We seem to be working as hard off the ball as we are on it, an eagerness to get the ball back.
Jace Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 I always felt that was the problem with Svens team, great talent but no pace.
MattFox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 I always felt that was the problem with Svens team, great talent but no pace. Their was a lack of work ethic in Sven's team too, there were games where it looked like he had just picked 11 random stranger's
shailen Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Its confidence...they are confident enough to run at full pace against defenders.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Its confidence...they are confident enough to run at full pace against defenders.I do agree. They are more confident this year. It's also about the players and formation. Vardy, Nuge, Dyer, RDL.. all quick. This is why I wouldn't have started Wood this season. He slows our play down too much. If you think this season is quick though, beware the Prem. Some of the attacks we'll see next season, if we go up, will be rapid.
dedlock Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 We will need pace at the back too. Liam offers that, but Wes and Was................?
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 We will need pace at the back too. Liam offers that, but Wes and Was................?I'm not so worried. I think Moore will start and he's no slouch.Wes will make up for not being the quickest by his good positioning and his sheer strength. Wasa's been great this season, but they would be my first choice pairing. We also have quick full backs. It may well be central midfield where we get beaten for quickness. The pace in the Prem is exceptional and possibly the biggest difference between the divisions. So many goals seem to come from your own set pieces (eg. Corners). Teams are so quick on the counter that a part of the game plan when attacking set pieces has to be defending the counter.
