Didnt McCartney write Hey Jude about Lennon's son, because Lennon was beating him up all the time?

Why dont they play Leicester Fiesta

"Beating him up", don't be stupid. McCartney wrote it during Lennon's split with Cynthia.

Get this quite a lot:

"Oh I like the Beatles too"

Me: "Name me one"

"Hey Jude"

Me: :glare:

Everybodys got something to hide except for me and my monkey.

Now that's a song.

Oh right, now I know. I dont know where I read it, I believed it though. When I saw your avatar I thought I was in for a beatin.

Nothing wrong with people saying they like The Beatles, not everyone knows their whole discography. Perhaps they just wanted you to like them.

Nah man, that information you read was incorrect.

Maybe I should be more lenient :/

I seem to be the exception given that I've always called him by that name but don't sing the song lol Only time I've sang that song is with a bunch of Newcastle fans doing it for Shola and Sammy Ameobi on the Kharkiv metro. That worked pretty well.

I've said the very odd 'Tony' on here (not Thrac) but nothing else really.

That does fit a lot better come to think of it. Even better than Yaya/Kolo.

Our version is horrific.

We NEED something original!!! When You're Smiling would be perfect. We get it going before every game, with the words on the screen, that'd be great!!

What about the x-factor girl doing a version? Sam Bailey? Would be great PR for her! It seems like the kind of song that she could sing (and slowly) whilst giving it beans! She is a Leicester fan and when it is released she can plug it by singing it for the first time before a match (Doncaster or the first home game of next season?). Quick, someone get in touch with her management team and the club! We need a new version. We need it sung in a certain way that would suit her. She is a Leicester fan. It would be great PR for her. Win win. I like the idea of it being sung slow the first time through and then jazzing it up the second. I am not an x-factor fan but have heard her sing and surely it is the kind of song that would appeal to her?

If someone did a new version there is absolutely no doubt that someone will object to it or to the person. I can't stand x-factor or anything about the show and the media circus that goes with it, but what can't be questioned is that the girl can sing and tbh she has the right kind of voice - I am sure she can do it in a jazzy style. It also has to appeal to both sides (pr wise) or you just get a sh*t job - and she is big at the moment.  Maybe we should get Kasabian to back her ;)

The idea is part way there anyway - just need to put the pieces of the puzzle together:

"But I've already put in my diary that I don't want anything booked in on the last day of the season. I'm going to the last game against Doncaster at home, you've got to go to the last game of the season, especially if you're going to be promoted to the Premiership so I just hope they do it. It's looking pretty promising but I'm not going to say they've done it until I can see it with my own eyes!â€

You sang on the pitch at the King Power Stadium recently, when your new album comes out do you think you could serenade the fans again?

“I would love to do that! You know what, to do that on the last game of the season would be awesome. I'd love to do that, come on at half-time and have a bit of a sing-song. How awesome would that be? I'm doing the Player of the Year awards this year, already, so I'm performing and they've given me a table of 10, so I'm happy as Larry!â€

Even if she doesn't do a recorded version then if she does sing on the pitch then she should sing 'when you're smiling' as the last song and get everyone going. One big sing along at the right pace!

I watched the Exorcist when I was 10 and have never been so scared in my life.

Having read that,I can now leave that moment behind forever.

Hate to say it but Derby and Forest play the right stuff pre match to get the fans in good voice / mood.

Forest's music in the 10 mins before kick off last Saturday was very uplifting. Didn't help the team in the end but you could feel the place bubbling nicely.

It's a shame because the goal video was a great idea but once Hey Jude kicks in I feel absolutely nothing apart from just wanting the game to kick off, and the half hearted singing along to a song that means nothing to us can just stop.

Her music isn't my cup-of-tea either but it is the kind of song (anthemic) that she could do a good job with. Of course it is. You might dislike her but all you actually need is a voice to sing the song at the right speed and she has that. She also has the backing and the link to the club that could actually see it happen. Who else is there? And how else would it work?  Alternative is that you put on the Sinatra version before the game - works for me.

I think Forests' pre match music is good, really gets you going especially as an away fan.

The video of our great goals was/is a good idea, but we should then play uplifting music. Something that gets us up for it. The music is far to quiet. I'm no fan of Robbie Williams but 'Let Me Entertain You' was always a good song to play prior to kick off, as was that Dario G song.

It's just so quiet nowadays. I'm literally sat down talking until the players emerge.

Be careful what you wish for. I remember how deafening the music was in (IIRC) the Real Madrid friendly. That was ridiculous.

Sorry to be sarcastic buddy, couldn't help myself.I don't actually think her voice is that good.

For me I'd get rid of all music before the game, but I suppose I'm stuck in the past.

No worries. I actually agree with this but do see a case for bringing back When You're Smiling. I miss it from the Filbert Street days.

Couldn't agree more. I would love this before kick off.

But which version to sing is the question do we use?

Posted

To be honest, The club wont change it, Agree with another poster... I think if we can get it rocking in SK1 at a NORMAL speed, Then it will spread.

When you're smiling.

The best pre match song i've heard is sheffield wednesday when I went with a mate against wycombe,

Found it on youtube but it's cut off short...

Still amazing though..

All we need is a massive group of fans to get it started (When you're smiling) at a slow pace to give people chance to join in, then getting faster, but never going getting to fast...

Posted

And we need to make sure everyone is actually in their ****ing seat at 2.45 to get the atmosphere rocking BEFORE the match... so many people rushing to get up the stairs at 2.58

I'm guilty of that,it's always 1 extra pint and then shit look at the time.

I know what you mean and I'm gonna try a bit more.
