Do we care about winning the league?

At the very start of the season, very few Leicester City fans were talking about winning the league, so it would be very good if we won the league now. But what Leicester City fans were talking about is getting promoted, so that was the aim from the very start, and we have achieved that. So it has been a very successful season.

Overall, no..it does not matter if Leicester does not win the league but it would put the icing on the cake - no doubt about it.

Definitely could get a bit squeaky bum. Burnley have it easier over the next couple of games but we have it much easier over the last 3. Think it might be tight going into those final 3 though.

As far as I'm aware there is a £20 million difference between finishing 1st to 2nd, I'm not a 100% sure on that but if this is the case we need to win it. Nigel's team selection was ignorant last night, there was no way we would stand a chance of winning with that line up. I'm still livid.

Are you serious? Bringing in the 4 players that we did I can only call Phillips a non 'First Teamer.'

Konch= Been first choice for majority of the season and was playing very well until losing his place.

Moore = Again started most games this season, nominated for young player of the season in the football league and was our best player in the first half of the season.

King= A man who has played over 250 games for the club, done absolutely nothing wrong when he has started and been called upon this season.

Phillips= Wood in the previous 2 games has been pretty poor before last night, no problem with him not starting, although would have picked GTF instead.

Then the other 7 are first team players who were all vital in the long unbeaten run. So in short, you're talking absolute bollocks.

Well said.

i knew the first thing people would say is why the 4 changes. Anyone watching that game on tuesday could see that the whole side let themselves down, not just the players brought in. Im hearing things like we lacked the pace of the wing backs. We lacked a ****ing lot more than that.

It was a good reminder to me on tuesday of why last season i wanted to move seats. Everyone around me becomes a manager when things arent going well and 99% of the time their complete lack of footballing knowledge is quite embarrassing,

Guys, as you know from other Burnley fans posting on here, we are more than happy with second place. Jeez, if you'd have offered us top 10 in August we'd have taken it after losing/despatching with 5 or 6 players. McCann, our former captain went to Wigan for more money, Austin went to QPR 2 days before our opening match. From the outside we were in a mess and had just signed another player no-one had heard of after Huddersfield let him go: Arfield.

By late August, early September there were a few posters on our board, me included, who said that this felt different. It felt like something was about to happen. I suppose after only experiencing promotion 4 times in the previous 27 years watching them, I just knew that feeling. I think we started to have hope for the play offs again like in 2009.

90% of our fans are just concentrating on that next 3 points towards promotion. Wherever the title goes, and it's your to lose, this has been an amazing season. I suppose even after to getting to 89 points so soon, the fact that you still have something to play for is a good thing?! It certainly keeps things interesting.

The money you get from actually winning the league is peanuts, it's nowhere near 20 million. The money comes from Sky when you get promoted, the football league give you barely anything, and they are the one's running the competition not sky.

Too right. Didn't hear many complaints when a 'weakened team' beat Milwall away, or got a great point at Wigan.

... Winner ... or runner-up? ..... hhhmmmmm! .... Not a glimmer of doubt or hesitation .... WINNERS ... Top of the pile .... Second to no one ... Number 1 ... Just a no-brainer this one .... and i don't give a fat rats arse how we do it ... Just get the job done, ram it home and finish TOP ... COYB

No chance. If that was the case he would've stopped all celebrations until the end of the season IMO.

The only really surprising inclusion was Phillips. Pearson's other choices were our number one left back until two months ago, our highest scoring midfielder and a defender who was nearly the League's Young Player of the Year.

The fact is, for whatever reason, we just played really badly. Maybe we relaxed too much, maybe the players eased off a bit, maybe they were just better than us, I doubt anything sinister went on and it's something that Pearson will be sorting out right now.

Hopefully the only reason Nigel started with that team is to rest some of the players so that they had the energy to push on and won the league. Just start Gary Taylor Fletcher next time and I'm happy!;)

If Burnley win their next game, Derby lose theirs and QPR draw or lose theirs, they'll be promoted due to having a 14 point gap on 3rd with 12 points to play for.

If we win our next two games and Burnley lose one and draw the other, the points gap will be 11 with 9 to play for.

Edit: I think.
