Collymore Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=356187 The last time Bakary Sako spoke to the media I'll admit I took it as a come and get me plea. It's been a difficult 12 months for the 25-year-old winger. Sako had been expected to leaves Wolves last summer, with the Frenchman linked with Premier League side Fulham throughout the close season, but the deal stalled and collapsed over the two clubs failing to agree a fee. Then up stepped Championship side Nottingham Forest, but they too failed to match our evaluation of the player. That led to reports of Sako going AWOL, reports which were denied by the club who announced that Sako had suffered a stress related illness following the transfer speculation. He then struggled for form, with some suggesting that he wasn't happy at Wolves and playing in League One.Who could blame him either? It wasn't exactly the plan we had mapped out following relegation from the Premier League and it certainly wasn't what Sako had signed up for.He then appeared to be reinvigorated by the arrival of fellow Frenchman Nouha Dicko. His form surged and he showed his top class potential as Wolves clinched promotion back to the Championship last weekend. But what next for Sako? He still has over a year remaining at Molineux and it's not secret he holds a desire to play at the top level. He previously said to the E&S: 'My objective is to play in the Premier League, I have one year left on my contract and we`ll see if something comes up which satisfies me and the club.' This was the comment that I took as a come and get me plea, which I received some grief for via our front page comments.'If that's a come-and-get-me plea, I'm George Elokobi!' wrote Steve Braund. While johnwolf said: 'You are getting just like the Express & Stir, fabricating stories that don't exist and making suggestions.'Perhaps I read it wrong, I thought, perhaps I was just being too negative and cynical?Well according to Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett, I wasn't and Wolves will let Sako leave Molinuex over the summer if a Premier League club can agree a fee. But that is a big IF."Sako`s future comes up a lot and he`s openly said if a Premier League club comes in for him, he`d consider it,"So let`s see if a Premier League club comes in. It was the same last summer, and it happened in January well." Jackett told the Express & Star.He continued: "The situation would still have to be right for the club."I really don`t know what the interest is from the Premier League, but he might be on the list of the clubs down the bottom if they stay up or go down."Similarly, sides in the frame for the play-offs of the Championship might be interested."The E&S have speculated that Championship winners elect Leicester City, who have already clinched promotion to the Premier League could be interested in a summer move for Sako.Read more: http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=356187#ixzz2z2U7XMhH I seem to remember him having a good game against us last season.
kingcarr21 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=356187 I seem to remember him having a good game against us last season. Scored a thunderbolt against us from what i can remember. not quite sure what there valuation is but i wouldnt break the bank to sign him.
MrSpaM Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 He's pretty good, dubious about him being premiership quality though
cityfanlee23 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 With a premier league team, and a championship team, both failing to "Reach an agreed valuation" How will moneybags leicester be treated where Sako has had a very good season in a side who have just won promotion? Not worth the valuation they put on him.
Captain... Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 The E&S have speculated that Championship winners elect Leicester City, who have already clinched promotion to the Premier League could be interested in a summer move for Sako. That is the most tenuous link ever, we are not leading the chase, some bit part local rag speculates that we could be interested, and has that as the headline.
Steven Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 No thanks. Bad attitude. "Sako had suffered a stress related illness following the transfer speculation" a fancy way of saying sulking.
indierich06 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Is he that much better than Mahrez and Knockaert? Wouldn't spend more than a million on him.
emmo1987 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 I just read all that, then at the end it says COULD !! We could be interested, is such an annoying saying. They just jump on the 'newly promoted Leicester' bandwagon don't they!
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 I think mahrez is way better than him tbh and knocky is at least as good as him if not better Does every tenuous link need posting?
Deucalion Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 I think mahrez is way better than him tbh and knocky is at least as good as him if not better Does every tenuous link need posting? Yes, that's the point.
Langston Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Isn't he a bit of a Gallagher / Boyd showpony type? Great handful of pings but little else.
tylesta Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 In a struggling wolves side last year he scored 10 goals and got 11 assists in 30 odd games. When we played wolves he looked big powerfull and pacey only time i seen him so cannot comment to much
morris1234 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 A player who doesn't seem to want to be in a scrap , or when games get tough. No thanks bakary, you can keep him Kenny!
Guest MattP Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 No fight, disloyal, vanishes in tough matches, never shown any sign of being Premier League quality. Next please.
