ElusiveEd Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Wasn't that keen on him as a footballer (More to do with him than his skills) but absolutely brilliant news for him. I remember seeing pics of him when it said he hadn't got long and fvck he looked ill so well done John on many levels and congrats to you both. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2622141/Footballer-diagnosed-testicular-cancer-celebrates-child-wife-miraculous-recovery.html
Solihullfox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Met John at the Wales Open golf at Celtic Manor last year. We hosted a table in hospitality on behalf of my company for the weekend and had time to sit with him over a beer and talk footy and about his life since illness ( he was there as a guest but also to talk about cancer charity to the whole hospitality facility) and he was a thoroughly nice bloke. He said, probably unsurprisingly, that his whole outlook on life had completely changed and he wanted to do as much as possible to make people aware of the dangers of the illness - pleasure to talk to.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 MON would had signed him I always thought to replace Heskey. Always thought he was a decent player and good to see the big man make a great recovery.
