Guest Bilo Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 You'd better tell them their loved one isn't really dead. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/11/charlie-hebdo-attack-police-officer-ahmed-merabet-tribute Or are they in on it too? Out of interest, who actually gains from this alleged false flag attack? Illuminaaaa Sorry, fell asleep. Israel IT'S ALWAYS DA JOOZ
ozleicester Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 This shouldnt go in the "theory" section, but whato... The GCHQ then go on and joke about their tools, including one slide that boasts “We know how bad you are at Angry Birds.” http://www.perthnow.com.au/technology/snowden-leaks-five-eyes-alliance-australian-involvement-detailed/story-fnjwnqyc-1227191761395
Guest seanfox778 Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 It's kind of weird but does anyone think our solar system is like a conveyor belt as in Earth will eventually turn into Mars as they move along. Pluto became extinct because it is too far away. Venus has lots of volcanoes (from what I remember) will that eventually turn into another Earth as we move along? And maybe another planet comes out of the sun to become Mercury? Kind of a weird thought but I believe that no one really knows what goes on out there. You can look as much as you want with a telescope and send robots out there but there's so much more to learn.

You can look as much as you want with a telescope and send robots out there but there's so much more to learn. It's an interesting theory, but unlikely to happen. Venus won't turn into Earth; Earth won't turn into Mars etc. Billions of years ago, Mars quite possibly resembled a similar planet to the Earth today. There is clear evidence that it had a large amount of water (with the possibility of minor lakes and seas) and a thick atmosphere which kept the planet warm. In an environment like this (or if it had remained with this environment) there is a strong chance life could have formed. Obviously today Mars couldn't be more different from that state. It has an extremely thin atmosphere, very likely no water and almost certainly no (living) life. It's long been debated as to why Mars lost its atmosphere and there is evidence to suggest that the solar wind from the sun literally stripped it away. Unlike Earth, Mars doesn't have a global magnetic field to deflect high-energy particles from the solar wind entering into its atmosphere, instead it has "pockets" of magnetism scattered around it which wouldn't be enough for it to retain its atmosphere. The Mars rover, Curiosity, supported this theory as it found that hydrogen and argon isotopes were rare in comparison to heavier isotopes, which would suggest they had been stripped away. This is still a lengthy process and would have taken over a billion years to happen (maybe two or three). As for Venus, well again billions of years ago it might have resembled something more similar to modern day Earth. However, because Venus is closer to the sun, its water would have boiled away into its atmosphere as water vapour which would have started a "greenhouse effect". As it heated, carbon dioxide would have been released into its atmosphere which would have enabled it to develop the thick atmosphere it has today. The temperature on Venus' surface is something like 400 celsius (pretty hot) and it has a surface pressure around one hundred times that of Earth's. You'd be crushed to death in a matter of seconds! Venus will never become like Earth and with it being that much closer to the sun, it'll be consumed when our star enters its Red Giant phase. The Earth's future will be similar: As the sun throws off its outer layers, our oceans will boil away and and the planet will become inhospitable to life. It will also probably be consumed by the sun. This won't happen for a few billion years although human activity doesn't help to delay it - although that's another argument entirely!
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 The Sun will also die at some point.. Suns of the past are being observed dying all the time. We'll be safe for a few billion years though.

This is all pretty much spot on, though Earth will become uninhabitable to complex life in around a billion years (not 2 or 3 billion) as the first thing the Suns increasing luminosity will do is destroy the ability for most plants to photosynthesise, which will result in them dying and a resultant collapse of almost all food webs.
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Can you see humans evolving into a different for. Hesitant to say species. I saw a programme about how our spines have changed. Humans developed from ape like creatures that were not meant to walk upright and it has been observed that it is changing with the way we live our lives. It may take generations but lifeforms will always adapt whatever disaster befalls them. Although it may not mean extra legs arms or eye Thats just given me anidea for a story. Similar to Planet of the Apes are Man but the ones they meet are future evolved Man. It can be done with a Time Machine or space trave.
Buce Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Thats just given me anidea for a story. Similar to Planet of the Apes are Man but the ones they meet are future evolved Man. It can be done with a Time Machine or space trave. H.G.Wells - The Time Machine.
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 H.G.Wells - The Time Machine. Yes he did a version. Its just a theme which must have been done many times in different ways. I've had ideas about earth being invaded from different dimensions now someone has written a novel and film TVseries made about it. I could never put it down in a book though so well done them. On the evolutionary Man thing I am sure we will change as there will be times certain senses will be needed more than others. Maybe ultra violet vision tosee in the dark. Protective skin from the sun. Vegatarian teeth as opposed to canine teeth.

Imagine if you got stuck working on the subterranean moon base, I can't help but wonder as to what they'd do in their down time. Maybe they'd build a cinema/bowling complex or something similar. The phone signal would be crap too.
Great Boos Up Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Our washing machine stopped working a month after the warrantee ran out. They put microchips in white goods to create faults.
