BoneDog Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 What a different world we would live in now... if this had not occurred? CIA admits it ordered 1953 Iran coupWASHINGTON: The CIA has admitted orchestrating the 1953 coup that toppled Iran’s prime minister after he tried to nationalise his country’s oil wealth from Britain, accordingly to declassified documents. The CIA’s role in the overthrow of Mohammad Mossadegh has long been known, with the coup haunting relations between the US and Iran..... http://indaily.com.au/news/2013/08/20/world-news-wrap-manning-meteors-and-the-cia/ My great Grandad was telling people that in the 60's, but was told he was batshit crazy. He's been vindicated. Hallelujah.
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 Just watched a documentary about Kurt Cobain and the theory that he was murdered by Courtney Love or she paid someone to kill him. Not sure myself but it did get me thinking about conspiracy theories. Are there any that you believe in? Are there any that you strongly discount? Some people are absolutely crazy about them
The Doctor Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 Oh, that's an awesome conspiracy theory - I got sent a single about that a few months back:
The Doctor Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 Anyway, the obviously stupid one is the moon-landing and the idea that the USSR, Americans main enemies, knew less about Americas doings, in an age where spies were rife, than some spotty nerd in his mum's basement.

lgfualol Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 The royal family are lizards. Very believable. Also I believe the anti-virus companies are the ones that are behind creation of the viruses. Makes sense really.

fox123 Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Here we go... Osama Bin Laden is still alive. Lord Lukan has Shergar hooked up in his stables in Mexico. Many siting of UFO's over Eyres Monsell. Michael Jackson still tapping up Macauley Culkin. And finally, Elvis has left every building going.
MPH Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Here we go... Osama Bin Laden is still alive. You were probably joking but..Negative. I actually know one of the Marines who was on the ship that took him out to see.
Captain... Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Just because some are ridiculous, doesn't mean that all are complete bollocks. Plenty of things that started out as 'conspiracy theories' turned out to be true. The US planning attacks on its own people to gain political support is one such example, another being the final solution and the massacre of the Jews for a long time the allies didn't believe it was happening, the Nazis did their best to keep it quite and the true scale of the atrocities were not known until after the war. Had the Nazis won the war, it would have most likely been buried and any one claiming that they had gassed millions of Jews would be considered loony conspiracy theorists. Another example is Blair lying to us over weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, because it is now proved to have been false people forget that at the time it was being reported as fact and a few loony conspiracy theorists were contesting the official word on it. In the quest for truth lets not immediately dismiss those that don't just swallow everything the government reports as fact.

ozleicester Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 I want to know just what happened to the other Conspiracy Theory thread?.... hmm explain that one
Sampson Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 My favourite is the Denver Airport one, that's just creepy. The one about new coke being deliberately bad to make money out of relsunching "classic coke" is probably true.
theessexfox Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 9/11, JFK, Moon Landings, etc all make interesting reading and watching arguments on both sides, true or not.
