Just read through this article regarding the 25th anniversary of one of the most courageous acts one man has ever done. Incredible that nobody knows what happened to him afterwards. I think the saddening and most likely answer is that he was executed/ran over, but still. A very interesting read I thought.

I remember watching Kate Adie's report from the "front line". In todays era of Sky News covering practically every civil and political disturbance from a "Skycopter" it wouldn't be regarded as remarkable but at the time, it was an amazing piece of journalism.

The full video I saw shows that (what look like civilians too) pull the man out the way eventually. So he doesn't get ran over, just depends who pulled him away as to whether he was executed.

You also have to ask why it's still so censored in China itself with the infamous 'duck' photo and all mention in books blanked out. Why wouldn't they just put the 'truth' forward?

Have you read the article? The whole protest narrative seems to be a lie, according to many journalists who lied at the time.

 

It wasn't just a case of the government killing it's citizens because they felt like it. Soldiers were being killed and hung in the street. Like the article asks, "How would the US government act if Occupy Wall Street protesters were killing, burning and hanging members of American law enforcement?" I've seen about 800 videos of US Policemen killing civilians for virtually nothing, so I suspect they would act exactly the same way to their citizens as the Chinese military acted if faced with a real threat as the Chinese were. What the Chinese did is no different to what any other government would do to it's own citizens if they were killing numerous police/army members.

 

The students in China were being manipulated by 'protest leaders' who were being backed by the US, and they took to killing their own countrymen, just like the paid terrorists in Syria started doing at the start of their so-called revolution. All because Washington, or whoever, fancies regime change.

As soon as the " establishment " got wind that the peasants were going to revolt by voting UKIP the smear campaign got underway as usual headed by Tory/ Labour and aided and abetted by their very own media outlets . But for once it did not work mainly because the public have woken up to the fact that all politicians are corrupt and also no one believes a word they say any more. All this b*llocks about democracy and how we are somehow morally better than the likes of China is what it is a pack of lies.   Get used to it there's plenty more to come.

Amen. I've read up a lot on Che Guevara over the past year for example. A man who depending on which side of the world you come from/which media you keep up to date on is either a mass murdering, racist, communist or a freedom fighter, who thought for a national health care system and freedom from poverty.

Just to add a fact, although China's human rights record is abissmal, India in it's 70 years of Independance has killed through it's establishment more then any other nation it that period, funnily enough the propaganda machine of the west doesn't make it important to hit our media!!!
