Went over last week for the Gladbach game(Uncle is a Gladbach fan). Was a great trip bumped into a few Bochum fans who were aware of the friendship💙

Yeah the location is awful. The old ground was a lot closer the centre.

Beautiful down the West Rhein Railway too. Done it twice with Bochum, fell asleep in the away end the first time (train had set off at midnight for a 3.30pm kick-off the next day).

Got a membership so I could make my first trip over for the Dortmund game in February, an amazing 2-0 win. Just booked up to go back for the game against Stuttgart in April. Completely got the bug now and i can't recommend it highly enough, they really do look after you over there 💙🤍

Yeah was pretty unfortunate they came over for the Brentford fixture. Took them to the Harborough Town game the next day,  was far more enjoyable

They must wish they'd partnered up with a different team. 

 

Cant imagine how shit it must be travelling from Germany to experience the in bowl atmosphere.

I was also at the Dortmund game a week before. Probably the most extreme contrast of atmosphere you’ll find coming back over for the Brentford game.

Scroll back or google it, plenty of articles on it. But in short a chap 16 at the time befriended a supporter group Azzuro Bochum and trips become regular ever since.

Yeah I’ve seen stuff previously about how it was one fan who started it, almost by accident. It’s just seemingly random, rather than anything tangible. It’s great for those fans who go to Bochum I am sure.

It's sort of how most international friendships start really, it's usually either through groundhopping or guys who moved somewhere for work. Until our recent history we had a lot in common with Bochum though - same colours, yo-yo clubs, unsuccessful in the finals of our nation's top cup competition, two rivals who claim bot to care about us.

Heading over to Germany in a couple of weeks as we don’t have a game. Been lucky enough to get tickets for me and my lad in the Bochum away end at Leverkusen. It will be my 1st Bochum game. We’re also doing Monchenglabach on the Saturday and Dortmund on the Sunday.
