Fox92 Posted 20 September 2014 Posted 20 September 2014 I don't like this. Spread all over Europe. They'll do anything to ensure England will never host a major competition. Doubt I'll ever see us hold the World Cup.
Stadt Posted 20 September 2014 Posted 20 September 2014 I'd rather not have it at all than this shite
Lonecai Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 European Cup 2020 in 13 host cities (to celebrate the 60th anniversary of UEFA) are: (According to UEFA requirements, in addition to Wembley, the other 12 venues, each course will be responsible for three group matches and a playoff game.) Select the semi-finals and finals held in London Wembley Knockout round: Irish capital - Dublin Danish capital - Copenhagen Dutch capital - Amsterdam Hungarian capital city - Budapest Belgian capital - Brussels Capital of Romania - Bucharest Spain - Bilbao United Kingdom - Glasgow Quarter-finals: The capital of Azerbaijan - Baku Capital of Italy - Rome Germany - Munich Russia - St Petersburg British capital - London - Wembley Stadium will host the semifinals and finals. Britain became the only country with two host cities.
bovril Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 I quite like the idea of a European Championship quarter final being played on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
Buzzell Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Shit idea. Can see it messing up our chances of hosting a World Cup.
Grandad. Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Shit idea. Can see it messing up our chances of hosting a World Cup. We won't host a World Cup in a very long time, probably not in my lifetime.

RonnieTodger Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Is Baku in bold to clarify that they're actually being serious?
stripeyfox Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Overall I think it's not a bad idea from Platini (whom the press love to cast as the pantomime villain). When you consider that the submission of bids came in at the time when the economy all over the world was crashing meant they had a piss poor choice of hosts to select from and no confidence that any of the bids would be able to deliver in the economic circumstances, they needed a plan B and the Pan European format was born.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I think it's poor idea myself, it looses its effect when they play it around europe it'll feel to much like a qualifier than the major tournament. With no german grounds being picked its likely the decision as been made for them to have the 2024 euro's which is a bit greedy seeing as they only had the world cup in 2006. It's great having the final though, but I'd rather us have tried and made a bid for the 2024 euros.
Asha Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 So do all those countries hosting a game qualify automatically?
