sylofox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 No but a 20m offer for Mat Fryup would be worth it.
Gubbins Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Ridiculous subject really. We are where we are because we have a team of championship players who are failing to make the step up. Whether Dyer offers us 'another option' is irrelevant really as we're only going to survive by getting in players who are better than what we have. Dyer wasn't really good enough for us in the second part of last season and he sure as hell won't be good enough in this one.
cc_star Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 You're an utter fool, Mahrez was our best player vs Liverpool, and was fantastic in the final 10/15 minutes. If the aim of the game was to back-pass Albrighton's perfect cross back to Mignolet and find a red shirt with every single short pass or FK... Then yes, he was the best player Which actually he was until Mignolet's og
cc_star Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I love Lloyd but Schlupp is a better player than him these days. :D Oh, wait... You're serious?
cjslcfc Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 If Lloyd Dyer was good enough to play PL football, he would have been signed by a PL club. Any one of the 20 PL teams could have made him an offer in the summer since he was a free agent. But the reality is he has found the level that his quality and attitude deserve, which is sitting on the bench in the Championship feeling hard done by. I don't really agree with this. Plenty of players who are and could be good enough may not be signed by PL clubs. For many the only option is to come up with a promoted team and then show they are good enough. Just because they hadn't been signed by a current PL club doesn't automatically mean they aren't good enough. I don't, however, think he has the quality to start in the PL but could be a dangerous impact player, no more than that. Anyway, he's gone and I think we miss a proper replacement more than the actual Lloyd Dyer.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Thing I don't get about this, is that people seem to just ignore the reality of his career in the last year or si. I loved Lloyd and he was a great servant, he was offered a contract and didn't accept it. Simple as that. This is a player that wasn't getting in our team post January last year, and is currently not getting in a slightly above average Championship team, how people think he'd be a top player for us, impact or otherwise, I just don't get, why isn't he getting in to the Watford 11 ahead of Anya? Anya was even subsituted on Friday and it wasn't by Lloyd, what does that tell you? Is the manager there an idiot? He was great for us, he's not here any more and him being here wouldn't make us any better against the level of competition we're facing. I'd never undermine or try and paw off the huge amount he gave this club when he was here, but he isn't here any more, and he isn't coming back, and if he did we wouldn't suddenly be a massively better team than we are now.

I don't know whether you can call Jokanovic an "idiot", all I can tell is that he's been in charge for only a handful of games so far and still is in the process of getting to know his players in the quest for finding his best starting XI.
hesapeepingtom Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 No... You're an idiot if you think we're a good enough all-round team to field a player as defensively weak as the old bencher Lloyd Dyer. You're an utter fool, Mahrez was our best player vs Liverpool, and was fantastic in the final 10/15 minutes. Don't know what game you were watching.all I seen a was knockaert Mark 2.holds on to the ball too long for self glory.
gerrytaggart Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Yes, it's obvious to see we have a real lack of pace on the counter, specifically on the left. Yes, Schlupp is fast but he can't dribble. Dyer was our most effective player Vs top flight opposition in recent years. Pace, pace, pace & pace again, matter even more in the top flight, not only that but he was great at tracking back. Along with the club's failure to land another forward which NP identified was needed the club not giving Dyer the extra year and/or not replacing him has been absolutely catastrophic! Yes the 2nd year would have required us taking a hit... But so what? Pace, pace, pace & pace again. Pace, pace, pace & pace again. Pace, pace, pace & pace again. Pace, pace, pace. Yo. drop the beat.
ballisimo Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 We are paying the price this season for not keeping Lloyd, he would of at least offered us a plan B, he would have shredded o'shea n brown and got us the points against teams like Sunderland.

Vardy isn't much slower....but he never had the chance to 'shred' o'shea and brown. Speed of the mind is more important in this league than speed of the feet....Van Persie, Falcao, Costa, Drogba etc...are all players who are not exactly 'pacey'.
veezeeblue Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 I Loved Dyer should never have let him go having said that we need something more (can say the same about Schlupp) if he gad of stayed in the squad though would have been a great sub for last 20 min scrambles, of which there will be many more until end of season not doing to well at watford bench most games played in 10 and not scored any in league goals but got 1 in the L Cup fraid thsoe days of screaming his name have gone never forget his goal against Real Madrid 230 apps 30 goasl for LCFC Club Hero
