Socks Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 The football league will announce a list within the next 24 hrs of clubs that will be hit by a transfer embargo in January 2015 The "team that is going to walk the league this season" is one of the clubs I feel for them.... all those injuries too... :xmaslaugh: http://www.nottinghampost.com/Nottingham-Forest-set-hit-transfer-embargo/story-25709510-detail/story.html wonder who the others are?
Ross-Kemp Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 Read the article, Leeds & Blackburn. A transfer embargo where they can still bring players in, ****ing shambles.
Dan Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 So it's an embargo which isn't actually an embargo the entire thing is a shambles. Bin it.
davieG Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/15/leeds-blackburn-nottingham-forest-financial-fair-play-transfer-embargo? Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest will all have a transfer ban for the January window after breaching the Football League’s financial fair play (FFP) rules. The League announced that the three clubs all incurred financial losses more than the £8m permitted during last season. Submissions from QPR, Leicester and Burnley - who were all promoted to the Premier League - plus the three clubs relegated last season will now be considered by the Football League. Not sure what that means or indicates?
yorkie1999 Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 I read that one exception to an embargo is if you use less than 24 players, don't know weather or not we fall into this from last year.
MrSpaM Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 So they can buy players as long as they can offload players in January. Problem is who are they going to offload for a decent amount of money without completely jeopardising their chances of getting in the play offs?
Corky Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Forest have won the Sky Transfer Fund, which they can't spend on transfers. Wonderful.
Babylon Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Forest have won the Sky Transfer Fund, which they can't spend on transfers. Wonderful. Utterly ridiculous.
marko Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Forest have won the Sky Transfer Fund, which they can't spend on transfers. Wonderful. It's been confirmed they can use it to pay the wages of free transfers/loans.
ScouseFox Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 what the hell is the sky transfer fund and how did forest win it?
Hollism Posted 17 December 2014 Posted 17 December 2014 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9608787/nottingham-forest-awarded-sky-bet-transfer-fund Give me strength! That has to be a wind up. How on earth is this true!?
Hollism Posted 17 December 2014 Posted 17 December 2014 So it seems everyone who has placed a bet with SkyBet in the last 6 months is entered into a prize draw. The winner of that draw wins £250,000 for their club to spend on wages. It's always going to be heavily weighted towards the biggest clubs in the football league, which happen to be the clubs with plenty of money. This could be a new training facility for a lower-league club, or the chance for a non-league club to buy their stadium/pitch outright and become a profitable business, or provide a scholarship or two for the next generation of world cup players. But no, it's going to fvcking Forest and their billionaire owner to help them comply with FFP and stop them losing more than £6,000,000 in 12 months. Nice work SkyBet. Go sit on a spike. Cvnts.
Vicki Vixen Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Just reading a thread about FFP on the Forest forum. They are so blinkered to the reality of FFP it's unreal. http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=37854&page=6&s=3515250f65a2f12006b5106f990d329e My favourite post: "Grenada just signed Miguel Layún for £2.6m, then loaned him to Watford for the rest of the season. Why are these deals allowed to continue? Get buying a small European club Fawaz. They are taking the piss." I think you'll find Fawaz has already done that.
