Can anyone recommend a free or inexpensive VPN for UK use?

Webbo lists Cyberghost above, which technically works, but I'm finding it reduces my Internet speed to around 0.3-0.5 Mbps (and my speed is usually between 75-105 Mbps) which isn't enough to stream 720p video, and I can't find a way to scale the video stream down to 480p.

I've just tried  ProXPN and instead of taking 30 secs to download KODI it was predicting 30 to 40 mins.

'Private Internet Access' is one of the best if not the best VPN service for the end user. Either that or 'Overplay'. Both around £4-5 a month.

How can I adjust the streaming settings? I'm not finding it in either system settings or video settings.

Same, if anyone can tell me how to change this it would be much appreciated.

On the Kobi home page:

Click on System and then Settings on the drop-down menu

Select Add-Ons from the menu

Select Enabled Add-Ons from the menu

Select NBC Sports

Select Configure

Change the Stream Quality to something like SD (1400kkit/s)

I downloaded Cyberghost as my VPN, and Kobi/XBMC and am watching the Golf Channel at the moment, and the quality is brilliant. I can't wait for Satdy afternoon!!

Thanks Webbo.

Go to add ons, highlight, but don't click on , the NBC add on. Then right click if you're on windows or press the C button and you'll see a little menu come up. Go to setting and you'll see what you need to do.

As for VPNs I use the free version of Cyber ghost which works for me. Just have it running running (with a US ISP) in the background before you start up Kodi. A paid for VPN might give you better speeds, I don't know I've never used one.

Can you get any of the other add ons to work? Try Genesis as that's most likely to work.

Have you configured the system? Scroll along to Programs, click on maintenance tool and then click on the Config Wizard. That'll take 3-4 minutes. Then go back to Videos and you'll find 4 shortcuts to the most popular add ons. You should find Genesis there. Click on latest movies , pick something and see if it works. Not all streams work so try a few if it doesn't work first time.

When I get to Programmes unlike the others there's no dropdown boxes. When I click on it I get 'Get More' when I click on the I get whole list of items but none that says Mantenance tool or Config Wizard.

This is the latest Kodi product.

I'm either mad or stupid.

It 's really hard to know without seeing it. If I was you I'd uninstall and install again.

Follow these instructions (for windows) http://www.tvaddons.ag/install-kodi-windows/

And then follow these instruction to configure  http://www.tvaddons.ag/config-wizard-kodi/

It helps if you've got 2 computers so you can read 1 and install on the other.

For those normal and less SAVVY computer buffs, please be aware that Internet streaming can sometimes cause your computer to behave irrational.

Webbo - Davieg and other TECH wizzards will have achieved their high internet knowledge through Trial & Error.

If you have a spare PC it would be advisable to dig it out and have a bit of fun...
